The Gus Landt Collection

Sorry for the lack of updates to my site. We\'ve been on mandatory overtime at work, and that combined with my 2nd job has meant an extreme lack of energy. :-(
I have 2 weeks off in December, and I plan to get picks of at least 2 more shelves done at that time. :)

In other unfortunate news, my 2nd job has become somewhat unstable. It was the money from that job that I use to buy minis. That means I have suspended 99% of painted mini purchases for the next 6 months or so. :(

Tammy, it\'s funny you say that. At first, I had done nothing of the sort. When I took the pics, the lights were wreaking havoc and i thought it would be nice to emulate the effect so I used chestnut ink washes to simulate the effect. It is a little more subtle than the image, but yeah I tried to make it much truer.

Thanks Rev. I am in a metallic mood waiting for the Priest concert in one week. Doing Alaric the Dwarf King right now all in glorious metallics too... :p

Glyn - stunning work on the vet. sergeant!
The Tiriel is nice, too, but I definitely favor the top one...

heh, that\'s so funny, aphotography mishap that turns into a cool painting experiment.... maybe I\'ll try something like that one day too...one day... when I have caught up with my backlog... :(

Tammy, that\'s the difference between say, you or Glyn and people like me.

You\'re \"accidents\" look better than my \"best efforts\"!lol

Sorry to hear about your backlog, hope it\'s not too serious...it\'s always better to paint what you want than what you have to.

Very nice Glyn. Those greens on the Sarge are really sharp. I also like that Triels armour is not all pretty and shinny.

I so got to agree with you Daniel. I make a mistake and the mini goes ito the stripper...

Oh, it;s not that bad, i was more reffering to my own collection of unpainted minis :( boxes and boxes full of them. i doubt i\'ll be able to paint it all, although i\'m giving it a fair wack!

Backlog is tough. The Vet Sarge is the last piece I spent a goodly amount of time on. Anything since was quick and dirty. Just can\'t get into it. Of course, having acommission I am not really interested in staring at me for 6 months doesn\'t help. Presently, I am working on it an hour or so a night, in hopes of getting it done in time for the Toads this month. After that, I am going to paint something I really *want* to paint... Like maybe the old Jabberwok figure. :p

heh, you sad muppet! I know what you mean though, sometimes, a comission just loses it\'s edge, and it will stare at you and mock you from your desk.... calling you names.... what? oh, I\'m sorry, drifted off there for a second ;)

It\'s ok, atleast I know I\'ll have minis to pick upo and paint for the rest of my life, the problem is i keep adding to the collection, i only just went and bought a box of palstic termies, bvecause if the things I MIGHT be able to do with them....which means they\'ll be living in their box for a few years atleast.

I know the feeling tammy! these things are so much easier to paint in our imaginations than with brushes... Once an idea I really like hits me, I find I really need to run out and get the mini(s) for it...and then the feeling passes once I realize how much time and work it will be (time I don\'t have!), so there they sit...although I don\'t think I\'m as bad as some

Eric, you\'re not as bad as some, TRUST me!

I just went and purchased both \"sets\" of Basti warriors from Wargods, including the FEMALE Basti set. Gorgeous minis, but I sat and stared at them and almost drove all the way back to the store and returned them.

I have hundreds if not a thousand or so unpainted minis...in fact, I just quit my gaming group on Sundays to give me more time to do stuff that I would like to do.

Depressing weekend, even when spending a chunk of money on minis...that\'s not right, is it?
