The Gus Landt Collection

Some of you here may be aware that I am a miniature collector. I am much better known over on the Reapermini forum boards, but I\'ve been lurking on these boards for quite awhile.
Well, I have finally gotten around to making a site of my miniature collection. To start things off, I am just doing the top shelf of my main display cabinet. I\'ll need to do the math, but I believe there is about $10,000 worth of lead on that shelf alone.

Anyway, here is the oft-requested, long-awaited site of my collection:

Awesome collection! Of course, you have helped me pay my mortgage on more than one occasion :D

Seriously though, I often wish I had lots of my minis still, but I know they are all in a good home now :)

Best get more pages done so we can see them all!!!!

Dude, it would be much cheaper if you learnt to paint lol

Nice collection, but a disclaimer should be thrown in for the best painters of our time boast. I can name 10 painters who are better off the top of my head lol Still, they are SOME of the best painters without doubt.

Your collection is sorely lacking my stuff.
Never mind,you\'re good.
Could always use some more,though.
As to different painters, there are some spectacular painters worldwide some don\'t get the recognition, laurels they deserve. It also depends on the country and how widespread the hobby is there.

That\'s a wonderful collection. I can think of a few more very good painters that your collection can\'t possibly be complete without: Cyril Abati, Natalya Melnik, Kirill Kanaev, Jeremie Bonamant, Eric Johns, Anders Eklund, Margo Tregorian, Allan C, Emmanuele Giovagnoni, Sascha Wagener... and a hundred more, but it\'s a work in progress, right? :)

My collection is definately a \'work in progress\' :D

There are TONS of worthy painters in the world. Some of which I do have some of their stuff, but just not on that shelf. Aside from the few pieces in the \'Misc\' page, all the painters are people I know personally and have spent some time around. That is one of the reasons they are on the \'top\' shelf. :D

That shelf represents about 20% of my total collection by volume, and about 35% of my total collection by price.

Good point, I added the \'some of\' wording. :)
Now for your part, can you name a couple of painters who you feel are better than everyone currently on my site? I personally feel that you can\'t name too many that are better than Marike and Jen, but I\'d love to hear names! :-D

As for MY personal tastes, Angela Imrie and Derek Schubert are my top 2 favorite painters. That is just for my personal style tastes. EVERYONES milage will vary! :-D

At least you aren\'t without SOME representation! You are on my top shelf after all. :bouncy:

Whoa! That\'s some collection! :wow: Especially when you point out that it\'s only your top shelf  And I couldn\'t argue too much with your \"personal\" favorites either.

However, you do seem to be missing the rarest of the rare, the most sought after prize of all:
The Finn painted mini
:D
Many would consider this the Holy Grail or even the Philosopher\'s Stone of minis!;)

In all seriousness, thank you for sharing your collection with us. Can\'t wait to see more!

I really like your collection, Gus, and I agree that Marike and Jen are two of the top painters. I often find myself inspired by their work. There are a couple of painters that I think is even better, but as you said, personal preferrence is a big matter. I think I\'ll bookmark your site. :)

Great collection. Many of my favorites as well. You may think Jen\'s is the best, but for my taste I\'d much have one of Angela\'s.

So, as a collector, ya think I could sell any of mine?

Beautiful collection. One of my favorite artists I didn\'t see was Matt Verzani. Really, all the top artists at this site are amazing and unique in their styles, so I think that without an EricJ, Kirill, Anders...(the list could really be very long) piece, your collection lies unfinished;).

So, umm, show us the other shelves!!!

Well, I guess it\'s no surprise to see a few that I\'d bid on in that group!

Good to know they\'re in a good home...

I would definitely add Margo, Dragonsreach, Ritual, and a number of others as well to that list!
