Dunno, i would have thought it would have been too small as the Iron Father looks about the same size as a tactical marine.....interesting idea about guitar wire there though, but that would be just for the cables etc on it, i need something that actually makes it look like a bionic arm holding a stormbolter/whatever weapon i\'m putting on him....

well I dont know (iv said what do know) but maybe just make a gap in the guys arm, put in green stuff (DONT FILL) then put wire round it.
Well guys, thanks to the poll i can safely say that this project will be a LOYALIST marine force! Thanks for voting guys! Now i would really like to do a pre-heresy marine force, and i\'m tempted to do the Iron Hands Chapter, BEFORE the drop site massacre, which means i can do a proper chapter (including terminators), as according to my research they stopped using terminators (or tactical dreadnought armour as they like to call them) after the drop site massacre.
It also means i can get someone that does sculpts on commission to make me up a Ferrus Manus model as well!. Let me know what you think before i start putting this on the WIP page, and any ideas/fluff etc i need to know about!:idea:

Personally chaos but depends if you want to do it quick or how many your planning.. A chaos army just ain\'t right without lots and lots of conversions.....
Iron Hands will also feature lot\'s of converting cos they just don\'t make enough bits....
bionics can be made simply and look effective by using the current arms cutting out forearm or bicep areas and ading in various size brass or plastic tube with guitar wires or stretched springs here and there as well as fine wire to make power cables. seen some good ones done with some of the older style necron parts as well they look quite robotic...through the whole range of GW marines there are a fair few spatterings of bionic but make sure you get your order in soon as they\'re pulling all the components of sale for a while..

The Iron hands don\'t really use Terminator squads as such any more as the first company was broken up and spread throughout the Clan Companies. This does mean however that you can equip veteran sargeants with terminator armour. You can also take Dreadnoughts as elite or heavy support choices which could be entertaining.
The biggest drawback to Ironhands IMO is the Iron Father HQ choice. Adding an extra wound to a Techmarine is all very well as you can get some very nifty wargear on him but his statline is significantly worse compared to most other HQ choices and he will find himself rather outclassed by other races characters. What they ought to have done is let the Company Commander take all the techmarine equipment instead.
If you want to do them pre-Heresy then Don\'t forget that Mk III and IV (Iron and Maximus) armour were the current styles and Mk VI and VII (Beaky and Eagle) came along after the Heresy. You can find a surprisingly easy and effective method of making Heresy era marines as done by Doghouse here .
Now BW bits is up and running again they are reasonably affordable too.

Wow! At the time of posting this thread, Chaos has since taken the lead. Seeing as how i\'m going up to the games workshop just now i\'v decided that for this project i will be doing a Chaos force.
As to which faction i\'m not sure, as i\'ve always had a thing for Slaanesh (Being a Slaaneshi Chaos general for WHFB). However, for this one i might do something different, either nurgle or undivided. Will see what happens.
Anyway, the first two things i shall be buying are:- The Chaos Terminator Lord Box set, and the Chaos Marine Box set (so i can get the chaos accesory sprue as well.) I\'ll be starting a WIP thread on these guys ASAP. (Basically some point today.)
And for those guys who all voted loyalists....Don\'t lose hope!!! I plan on doing this army BACKWARDS. As in from their ascension to daemonhood etc right back to pre-heresy era OR pre-chaos. So once i\'ve decided on faction, background story, and paint scheme, i can then start working backwards from there.

Well, it\'s technically not Fulgrim as such, at least according to DH it wasn\'t planned that way.
Still a nice piece though and a cracking centrepiece for an army!!!! Well i\'v managed to get my stuff, and i\'m being a tad sneaky with it - seeing as how you only get ONE model out of the chaos lord box, i\'ve decided to chop up and screw around with one of my old terminators so that i can use the other bits of the sprue to make TWO models. So i\'ve built my Chaos Lord, and i\'m now working on my Sorcerer. I\'ll post pics on the WIP page at some point tonight....the thread will be called Farewell To The Flesh (Collecting a Chaos Space Marine army on a budget).

I\'d say go with Dark Angels, Ultsamarines orBlack Temps, However Blood angels get the job done good too
