So decided to create one big thread of goodness rather than having a bunch of threads here and there. Makes life much more easier.

Just in case you have missed on the other two threads, have a look and let me know what you think : Keeper of Secrets and Snikch

So continuing on, here is my unit of 26 Skink cohort for my all skink army. This unit will accompany Tetto'eko into battle.

Going for a nice neutral and natural color scheme for my skinks and lizradmen in general.

Lizardmen has been my first army since the 6th ed and will always be my main Fantasy army since I love every thing about them.

Since the 7th ed book came out I liked the fact the skinks have become somewhat (emphasis on somewhat ;P) more useful and just more fun to use. Since I don't play tournaments very often, I like to create fun lists to play against opponents in the store.

Let me know what you guys think of them so far.

Thanks

These are nice models. I really like your keeper of secrets and Snikch is nice too. I also like your Skink unit.

Hello scipunk.

Your Skins have beautifull dynamic poses. I like neutral and antrual COC too, for example my woodelfs. But though I would suggest to add either a contrast colour or more depth (shaddows or highlights) because in a big unit and very near related colours it will look like a big mass, instead of many single unique miniatues.

Greetings, Taggi

Thanks guys for the comments for they are always appreciated.

The skinks are 1/2 way through...they have already went through the process of basing, inking, 1st highlight, inking, second highlight, inking and would be doing this for 2 more steps (I hope ;P)

As for contrast, as suggested by Taggi, I am thinking to paint their crest in a nice deep red color (representing the serpent god Sotek)

Here is something that I have been working on for a online painting competition a few weeks back. As all online competition, I did not post them on the site for the purpose of fairness to all other painters.

The competition is at its end and though I did not make the top three, it was a great opportunity to do something like this. It also gave me a chance to paint something that is not GW...the Pirate Queen Skarre from PP, which was a great miniature to paint.

Let me know what you guys think and in what areas you think I could have improved on.

You can vote for them here:

Kislev Queen Tsarina Katarina
Pirate Queen Skarre

Thanks

More to come later

Both are nice minis but I have some crits as it's for a competition. For the Kislev queen, you have to shade a bit the horse as it actually looks like you've only applied one white basecoat on him. I also think you have to highlight the blue parts on the queen and her face. For the Pirate Queen, you have to work a bit more on the gold, it looks a little bit flat to me. You also could highlight the hair a bit more and change the horns as they look quite bad. You also could highlight the purple. Good luck for your competition.

Alright my next update of the lizardmen army. Here is the next highlight for the army....just need to complete 11 more skinks and I'll be onto my next step (I think this is gonna be my last horde list I attempt :doh!: Feel sorry for Skaven players )

In addition here is Tetto'eko in his glorious self. Simple conversion from the Stegadon kit. Just used the skink priest and the engine of the god seating for the palanquin. Once I complete the unit of skinks I'll start on this guy.

Also in between breaks I am trying to paint this guy up: Canis Wolfborn. I really like this model and I had him in the closet for too long. So its time to lay some paint on him.

Started on his wolf for now and wanted to go with the traditional black/grey/white feel for him. Setting to a slow start I have been layering and washing the fur to try to achieve the right look to it. I really find it very difficult to get the right texture on fur, not to mention paint on fury texture, so any advice on that part is highly appreciated.

Hopefully the wolf would be completed in the next few days.

BTW base.....too much or not :p

That's some very different projects. I like the green skin of the skinks, a lot better than the blue one in my opinion.

Thanks Cheelfy and I'm glad you like the green color scheme.....that scheme was created by accident 5 years ago when I was trying to create a scheme for my lizardmen army...ever since I tried to make it better over the years.

I have continued some work on Canis' wolf today by adding more highlights and shadowing to the grey/white area. Still needs some work, but I'm really satisfied on how this is coming along.

As always C&C are much appreciated

Thanks

Alright....up with a new update.

I am doing a commission work for someone that wanted a Malifaux Seamus Redchapel gang box set painted up for him. I decided to take on the challenge because a) some of these models are great b) wanted to expand my self with painting other mini manufacturer out there.

First up is Madam Sybelle. Started to work on the front torso. I am trying to achieve a nice leather effect, which soon enough found it a little difficult to achieve. I don't want to overdue it on the highlights, but yet again don't want to make it flat.

So all comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.....until next time

Thanks for the comments guys

@cheelfy---close to the studio version

@mud duck---I tried with the top rock on its own and for some reason just looked like it was missing something....surprisingly enough the base is not that heavy as I anticipated

Pretty much done with the clothing....just need to finish off the frills that come out from it.

But before I do so, I decided to paint the skin for ease....(and a change in color :p)

I should be done with the model by Monday evening if all goes down as planned.

Got the stockings done and started a little bit on the wipe.

Should I add a bit more of the flesh color into the stockings or not?

Thanks
