That black tint on the ends of the wings works really well I think. Sorry to hear about the snapping, sometimes GW’s new models are too intricate for their own good

Thanks, fox. I think it was you in another thread that mentioned Black 2.0, and I picked up a bottle and have started using it on my base rings. It's not as dark overall as Abaddon, which I was using, but it's super even and very matte. You can't tell the difference between the edge facing the light and the sides as they go around away from the light source. I really like the effect.

It's been about a month since I was able to paint anything, and my wife has been wanting to play Shadows of Brimstone. So I finally managed to squeeze in some brush time and got these little tentacles done. First time painting anything that wasn't a GW model. I definitely have a better appreciation for the quality of the plastic and sharpness of the models that GW has after painting these. But they were fun and easy, and I got to look at lots of pictures of earthworms, so there's that.

Another month gone, and I finally finished up another project. More Shadows of Brimstone pieces, this time some mine entrances. At this rate, I'll have the whole game painted by Christmas.

This is the first time I tried to do a little object source lighting with the hanging lanterns, with mixed results depending on the color of the underlying rocks. Maybe drybrush some white in that area first, and then yellow glaze? On the purple and turquoise rocks, it came out a little muddier than I expected.

Great looking tentacles and love the fact you put some variation into the stone colour on the mine entrances. You’ll have a great looking game on your hands when you are finished.
