New sculpts, new style.

Have to say, I didn't contribute to your thread, but those sculpts are simply amazing mate :good:
Thought I should ask about that brown clay, it's better for "inorganics" shapes, or your just using it for better visual separation during work ? (sorry, I'm still kinda noobie in different clays than GS and always looking for any info). Thanks in advance.

@Phaty: If it's the putty I'm thinking about then your guess is spot on. Brown Stuff is great for inorganic shapes and hard details since it doesn't swell and soften the details as much as GS does.

nice one, he's your best yet. i would be tempted to shift the angle of the gun so it's resting more in the crook of his neck. from some angles, it looks like it's floating

That's the plan in time. I had to move it slightly due to sculpting the head but when it's done I will tweak it in slightly and fix the wrist with a watch or some device as the hand and gun will be a different part. I still have to add a little finger guard like thing over the gun and grip, like the old west rifles. :)

Thanks3everyone for the input and nice words. I've been trying real hard to improve with each sculpt I do and getting more confident to do things like this.

Also yes the putty is brown stuff and slightly less memory sensative. That means when sculpting green stuff tends to bounce back, or soften edges at times. Brown stuff is slightly stiffer or less likely to bounce back. I sell both of them now from my site very cheap for other sculptors so if you ever want to try it I'm a good place to start.

That said I still need to work on the bionic eyes a bit and other little fiddley things but hope to finish him soon. I have 2 other sculpts going I'll post next for a game called BattleLords and some faces for another company to make converted alien warriors.

Thanks Chrome, glad for any info about clays atm.

Thanks Tryg, I thought so, already read about brown stuff, been just wondering if it's work that way for you (personally thinking about something less poison green than GS for details, as my work space is a bit light cheap and I having troubles to see tiny details wich poping on macro pictures now. So not only for avoid "memory sensative").
Oki, I will give it a try after my current running project including testing super sculpey is done.

And subscribed finally your thread to see more amazing sculpting.

My studio is not the best for light either. I have 3 lights I put in above me and even they do not give me what I need, so I bought a cheap hanging light and plug it into the light fixtures above and move it where needed to help with what ever I'm doing at the time. Works great for a burst of light.

Looks like another lovely piece - pretty smooth start Tryg :good:

@Desmosn - GS should be fine, my favorite so far is that Gale Force Nine 100g separated tubes - wich is like .... I don't know 20x more GS than usuall overpriced tiny small GW roll (not need even mention yellow and blue clays doesn't touch each other in tubes ofc.).
Or .) ... as we are in TFM here - Ed will probably link you here Trollforged Supplies right ? :)
