Well, as the roadie one here, I demand that the mek is working a sound desk.
And there has to be lights!!

Mind, that could almost give you an excuse to have the mp3 player, or at least the display from it showing, in a small FOH area.

And you have to have a big drum kit.

And at least one guy pulling a big solo.

Just thinking. A \'wall of sound\' seems pretty orky if you consider it. I wonder if I could fit that on the howdah - it\'d give me a good excuse to toss some stage lights on though, and I could probably hide the other big speaker behind one of those big central amps.

You\'ve probably already thought of this, but I thought I might offer my amateur advice.

I\'ve been working with a conversion I started over three years ago for a Slaanesh Land Raider with a built in working radio, it\'s been three years and not finished yet because of massive technical difficulties with the function, clarity, and ability to tinker with it. and finding a way to get reception while moving across the table is difficult :drunk:(I\'m also never satisfied with it)

My best advice is this, leave a way to get back inside to change the batteries, fix broken wires (I noticed in your second one you stated that the wiring on it was horrible), and change out anything as needed. The batteries are what come to mind first, and they might become one of the larger problems later on.

Just be sure to leave a way back into it once you decide the jobz a good \'un, and have a plan for getting to it before hand.

Second piece of advice, check the sound output and see if it\'s noticeable. It may sound good when it\'s facing you and up close, but on a table facing away from you, in a store with several people, it might be less obvious.

Perhaps after seeing your work, I\'ll switch it to an MP3 as well (They wern\'t as common or accessable to me then as they are now)

The idea (and execution) is great but it needs Hell March or Hell March 2 on the playlist :D

You rock.

Awesome videos!

I would suggest, for shock value and because it\'s the exact opposite of orkish, playing the macarena. But, with all seriousness, Flight of the Valkyries would be pretty boss coming out of that beast!

you need it to play descendents and electric hellfire club.

have a girly orc dressed to the nines singing back up. imagine it like dolly parton on crack while singing a song by metallica.... course the only thing that will make it a girl will be the fake breasts he added by putting grenades into his shirt.

and have snotlings all around the body rocking out as the concert go\'ers. lol

Some updates from the past three days, smashed into a single post:

I\'z been shown a vishun uv Gork and Mork, an I hadz ta get to werkin\' on it!

DIS CHOPPA IZ TOO WEEDY FER DA JOB, SO I\'Z UPGRADED TO A \'UGE CHOPPA!

squigsaw.jpg

It wot took me\'z bout half uv one-a dem \'ours to chop my way out da uvva side, but I didz it!

squiggoth15.jpg

Ya\'z see, I\'z gunna hollow it out and put all da worky bitz inna \'iz gutz, and close \'im up, but not \'fore I putz a hatch in da top fer changin\' da batt-rys. Dat way it\'z all sealed up good so\'z I can put wot-evah howdah I wantz on da top!

I ain\'t no zoggin\' madboy! Just youz give me a little bit ta prove it.

(It was an astonishingly good cut, actually. I missed everything of importance with the saw - avoided the armor plates, the legs, even the squig-wang on the underside. I\'m going to hollow it out and remove the top of him as a hatch which will hopefully be hidden or concealed by the howdah. There\'s a couple cuts there as I worked up the nerve and broke jewellers saw bits that were far too weak to do the job, but those can be easily concealed, and the actual cleft cut itself is a nice and simple repair with a bit of greenstuff \'round the underside that nobody actually sees.)

It gets worse!

It\'s times like this I wish I knew electronics so I didn\'t have to bother with all this work, but so be it. That marked out block is going to be removed tomorrow courtesy of my dremel.

... And cut to today...

Oh ye of little faith, behold!

Ya might have thought I was crazy, but tell me if this looks all that bad.

squiggoth18.jpg

squiggoth19.jpg

Barely a seam, eh? Alright, there is a seam, and there are a couple marks on it, but nothing that greenstuff can\'t superficially fix. This all gets easily hidden underneath the howdah anyway.

But wait!

A hatch! And underneath? Batteries and the circuit to amplify the speaker, in a compact (hah, not really...) box!

Enjoy this! It\'s a view that nobody will ever see of a squiggoth\'s rock solid resin insides. About two hours of dremelling with a very dedicated sanding drum carved this out.

It\'s alright, guys. You can say it. Come on, do it with me.

Woohoo!

I might not have been as mad as I seemed. ;)

No he\'s not. He\'s batshit crazy. Even the Squiggoth says so.

Thank god he didn\'t think about renting a router or something to hollow out the inside. That would have been too quick and thusly disproven the above point.

Why don\'t you articulate the legs and add tiny motors?

And maybe a motion/heat sensor, and an tiny microchip with a movement algorithm.

You could also mechanise all the weapons and add tiny firing pins and warheads.

But THEN, of course, you\'d need to program in Aasimov\'s rules and behavioural algorithms along with IFF identifiers and such.

Maybe you should just crap this one and start again at 1:1 scale in order to fit in all the electronics :D

Not sure if I posted this someplace else, but here it goes again. Rember to add something that will help you to remove the batteries and most importantly the off/on switch. I\'m thinking a U or a basket like handel/shape around the battery case. Or gluing a couple of cloth stripes on the side (think Army Case layers). I\'m guessing this will help prevent chipping paint or resin when you remove the batteries.
And as posted before and straight from the Squigs belly \"Your one batty indivual!\"
Keep up the good work.
