Good luck with all those. I couldn\'t think of anything worse than having to face painting that many minis. *shudder* I have box loads of nids to do (and dwarves, and skaven.......) but I don\'t plan to have my army finished by the end of 2009. It\'s probably going to be a long time in progress. I have lots of other stuff in the queue first.

Ok so today I was curious on the progress of my skinks soaking in my Simple Green solution, it has been about 2 days that they have been soaking so far so I snagged out a few and did some scrubbing with a tooth brush and a nail brush to remove the paint

Unfortunately for me a lot of the mini\'s I own were pre-owned and purchased through ebay and I am not sure of the types of paint they used on the mini\'s. Some look like they were simply basecoated with generic spraypaint, some look like they used GW primer / paints but most of the time it is a coin flip

With that being said this is the progress of what I got.

I got a little side tracked and to be honest needed a break from scrubbing the skinks so I decided to make a quick little movement tray for the unit I am creating. I made it kind of simple with a flat piece of thick cardboard, some elmer\'s glue, and some balsa wood

Here is what I came up with

It is made 100mm x 100 mm basically or 5 ranks of 5 wide or a 25 skink unit

I like to arrange the bases on the movement tray and lay out an overall \"theme\" for the entire display so the terrain on each individual base fits and matchs the adjacent bases and it looks appealing to the eye

I am still thinking of the overall terrain theme I want to use for this one. I was thinking of a marsh look or skinks going into a river. I will see where I want to go with it later, maybe I will fool around with that photo editing software to give me some rough ideas :idea:

OK, well still working on so many projects I am trying to get this home made light box made... well I am just to by elbows in glue and construction paper... UGH! lol

I hope to have it working by tomorrow I am going to hit the sack tonight

Well here is a little bit of stuff for todays update.

Here is something I got side tracked on... I made a lizardmen ziggurat temple. I think it turned out ok

I still might add additional stuff to it, I have some skaven clan rat head bits and some other things I was thinking of putting some pikes with heads on them on the top of the temple, Also I found an idea of a \"sacrifical temple\" so I have the three sides with a blood like effect coming down. Again, depending on how I feel about it when the other pieces come together I might change a couple things.

Here are a couple updates of my movement trays for the skinks I have

I made two quick movement trays shown above. Here is the progress of those

First I put a quick wash of 50/50 green paint / water to just get the overall color on them as a basecoat since some of them had other stuff on them

This is how that turned out

From there I wanted to add a water color scheme, and maybe define the overall pattern

one of the bases for that one I just realized wasnt lined up correctly lol ... I will have to fix that when I put flock on and water effects on. Easy fix

The blood on the temple is a bit thin and pink - maybe they haven\'t killed that many people there yet.
You certainly keep yourself busy!:)

hmm, Ok so all this time I was using flicker and well, my flicker account is now full. I was wondering if I should get a year subscription for 25$ or not. Also I might just sign up or another freebee flicker account lol

So I am making a list of what I can finish up / work on tomorrow and I really want to push out some skinks and some saurus spearmen so I can at least show some progress on my stuff. I have so many things in the queue it is getting overwhelming.

Well today I tried to work on my bases more, Also I tried to start arranging the units, choosing color schemes and getting the queue moving some, I know it is going to be a long long challenge.

So I base coated a unit of skinks, I am going with a version of the orange - poison tree frog for my first 12 skinks.

Updates coming soon, i ran out of room to post new pics on flicker

Ok I finally have a three day weekend, then I have thanksgiving off so I can spend a good amount of time on some of the lizardmen mini\'s I have.

I have the basecoat on 2 units done, I am going to try to take my time and work on each unit, then as they are being finished up, work on their command group. Finish that off with a possible hero between each unit and it should progress nicely

I am still working on \"organizing\" my workstation, I will post before / after photo\'s of that as well

the 28th we are going to be redoing our internet that we have in the house so that should free up a lot of stuff (going to wireless ... we have cords all over the house right now lol )

Today I started prepping everything, I went to go and take pictures of the entire queue (it looks funny all lined up) and my camera I just bought 2 weeks or so ago will not turn on...

I haven\'t used it in a couple days, and it was working perfectly fine the last time I shot pics with it

I think it may be the battery
Kodak Digital Camera battery, lithium CRV3 3v... but I didnt think it would burn through it\'s battery that fast. Kind of annoying I guess, I will go get another one, I guess they run around 5-8$ depending on what one I want. I have my fingers crossed, hopefully that is whats wrong, otherwise I am making a trip back to the store because this is BS


So there is my camera rant

The Queue looks something like this

Unit 1: 12 Skink skirmishers (poison tree frog look, orange / black) Classic 5th edition ones with conversions of new javilin items in their hands.. and a shield to cover up off hand bows

Unit 2: 22 Saurus warrior Spearmen conversions, 5th edition saurus warriors with new spear arms, possibly shields but I am unsure if I want new shields on them or not

Full pewter command group, still thinking if I want to put a spear on the standard bearer and the champion or keep the hand weapons with them. Possibly putting a high elf feather plume on the drummer (old saurus pewter drummers look so plain)


I want to work on the skinks first but... I think I should alternate, as mentioned in prior posts my painting is coming back but I still have a lot to learn from what I see on the posts here

I want the skinks to stand out some but not all that much since I have 300 or so to paint (lol)

I want to save the temple guard and saurus warriors / skink cold one riders for later because they are special units to me

I think with Flickr you have a monthly limit that you may have hit. You can keep adding images to your account - but you won\'t be able to view them any more unless they are in a group - this is the way around it!
Create a group and add your photos to it - then you can always see them.
