Guess I am getting into cutting and posing too now..

I hate Forge World, always making me want to buy stuff. That is an odd shape for GW minis, is it supposed to represent ancient technology, or new tech?

Ancient Tech. It's a design based on the old EPIC dreadnoughts I believe, y'know, those 6mm buggers. Fluff-wise they date it to the time of the Horus Heresy, when Marines were generally a bit more high-tech and better equipped than now.

Yeah, it's pre-heresy model.. Though, it doesn't look anything like either the old Contemptor, nor the EPIC model.

The EPIC model was a mini of the old contemptor, buridundus, and what they were called.. really ugly models.


Works well with the beakies though..

Though, technically, I guess I should invest on the MkIv armour, but, back when, the MkVI was the pre-heresy
armour..

Dang GW..

Though, it's actually nice atm, it's cheaper to buy forgeworld stuffs, than GW finecast stuffs...

Cool. Looks like a fun mini to paint. I like how as the Imperium progresses, technology has to be rediscovered, instead of developed.

Darn, didn't know they made that! When was that released? I still have some older EPIC dreadnought's then..

They look like the old furibundi's, contemptor and last name can't remember, this:

Hehehe, yup, the really old ones. I still have two of those old metal puppies in 40K scale somewhere.

As for those contemptor Epic ones. I dare not pick a specific year, but I think they are from the period when Epic was just called Epic. Y'know you first had Adeptus Titanicus, Space Marine and then Epic. That would make it 2nd edition I think, early nineties? Could be third edition though...

Damn my attention span, now, I'm painting 40 genestealers and 4 contemptors...

I need to learn how to actually FINISH stuff..

I think I really like the contemptor, because the forgeworld model fits well into the older
models all around.. the preds were rounder, the termies were rounder.. the beakies were rounder..

Not to mention, it makes the "new old schkool" dreads look tiny..
