Josh's WIP log - Will I actually post?

Yeah, thanks, I probbaly will skip the DG, you're right they'll be the new hotness this year. If I do a unit entry maybe I'll pick something weird.

Now if I can just stop getting "inspired" by new projects and starting then and getting them to primed stage while I still have a dozen things in that stage already :)

I think going on to the next best thing and having many unfinished figures is the curse of every mini painter. It must be the pigments in the paints that give us the attention span of a goldfish and the need to collect like a bird trying to find that next shiny thing.

Speaking of! A new challenger appears and has jumped the queue. I randomly had an urge to paint post apocalypse, leather textures, and atmosphere, so started on The Wanderer:

Just a lighting sketch now, but definitely gonna have that Fallout greenish-yellow light overall, with a greener glow coming from the bottom left

Now I'm in a bit of an argument with myself over the hood. At first I wanted to paint it as cloth - maybe a keffiya or the like. But the way it drapes in the back and the tears/wear around the front tell me it should be heavier and so I went with more of an oilcloth or canvas look. I like that, but the color MAY be too close to the beard color. I don't really want to make him not blonde - but I also want to keep a generally yellow tone in the overall piece, and have the hood be a tone that will take both the green light and the overall yellow sunlight well.

The hood and beard aren't QUITE as close in real life as those pictures look, but they may still be too close.
