hhaha exactly it was laying in a box of my dads old shit here at work its an old tweeter cover lol.....

heres some updated pics i took some stainless steel tubing and cut it to about an inch long. bent them(made em look gnarly. then i took a dremel and grooved out the plastic on the botom part of my base and glued them in so they look all bent and distorted. pretty cool huh lol...

oh and some old gears from a cassete player and i used all the filings from cutting the plastic to make the dirt and grime

ok so heres some more on the base its tri level now lol.....

again using a scroll saw i cut another disc from some pvc plastic sheeting i had laying around

my plan is to do like an ectoplasmic green where the break in the brick work is so it looks like the burst pipes leaked some sort of space goo out lol...

i drilled and glued rivets into 32 holes on this bad boy i hope you guys appreciate the ever more tedious work lol...

The pipes look a little odd now you\'ve added that bottom layer...

Very nice overall though - have you made sure where you want to have his feet and that he\'ll balance ok?

Ok so after a long time i finally got to sit down and paint a bit.... started with the dread and moved to the base to get an idea of what im gonna be going for...
srry this took so long but life is what happens when ur busy makin other plans lol (just bought a house and dealing with crazy bills)

lemme know what u guys think as always i love the lil tips and critiques they help me paint by being made aware of the lil things. i dont take it personally unless u say "this is crap" hhaha

also just ordered a one off conversion from scibor should be seeing that in a few days( yea some of u hate the guy, i dont, and i dont wanna hear about how much he sucks so save that bs for another thread. i dont care that he press molds stuff i dont care about how hes not a real "sculptor" he is to me i like his work and thats my opinion. like i said save the comments and nasty things to say for someone else or just dont buy or look at his stuff.(i think that covers it lol)

heres some photos of the base and the dread thus far, sorry it took so long i hope u wont hold it against me!!!
i kno the pictures are not the greatest but its all i had and i wanted to share. i know some of you love the w.i.p.

let me know what u guys think i need an idea of what to paint the middle level of the base i was thinking maybe a colored armor plate to divide the plain grays and all throught the model
neways comments welcome hope u guys enjoy.
if u have any questions on how i did certain stuff feel free to ask i have no problem sharing.
thanks guys

I love your NMM and how the model ties with the base. Even the way the dirty water is painted ties in with the rest of the paint scheme. It has a quality remiscent of a painting or maybe like it has just jumped out of the page of a (highly stylised) comic book.

holy threadcomancy batman... It's good but I would either go to resin for the slug on the base or get ride of that green entirely as it gives off this two deminsional appearance.

I think that its a cracking paintjob buddy, kudos! The only thing that bothers me slightly, is the pool of gloop on the base. For some reason its stands out from the over-all effect of the piece... it was the very first thing that caught my eye when looking at the mini, which makes everything else secondary, if that makes sense. In my humble opinion, it might work better if you use tinted water effects to make the pool. If you apply the water effects carefully, then the surface tension around the base lip should stop it from running everywhere.

Wow! Over two years ;)

I really like the whole paint job and the base. I even like the green goo part and it's place in the composition. There's some comic vibe going on in the whole piece and it all sort of fits.
Good call on abandoning the sky-earth NMM you started out with but you should try that technique out again though, as you were off to a decent start. Just maybe practice it on a smaller model :D
The most convincing NMM in my opinion are the head and the middle section of the base. The rest still look really nice.
