I know we all seem (understatment) to have been a bit harsh on poor Catman, but I think that there is/was good reason to our behaviour.
Basically this site exists to show off the painting of Toy Soldiers and to help people improve their techniques. Most of us on here have galleries of figures, some are competition winners or finalists and quite a few of us do commission work.
What I haven\'t made clear in my posts, and I apologise for it, is that I\'m not worried about another painter getting commissions (hey I\'ve pointed a couple of people elsewhere in the past) but I am concerned on behalf of someone trying to get a foot on the ladder without a reputation and then getting ripped to pieces for doing what he/she thinks is a quality piece, but the customer doesn\'t.
Unfortunatley Catman doesn\'t have anything to show us yet and he\'s in a position of zero cash, but he wants to improve his work by offering to paint others pieces for free. In itself that is laudable in the desire to improve.
His delivery of the offer was, I suspect, intending a little humour and due to the internet and the vagaries of the typed word didn\'t come across quite as he intended.
Now I think He (Catman) has come to understand that when we were picking apart his spelling & grammar, we were trying to show him that it didn\'t instill confidence in a potential \"customer\". (And it\'s my error that I didn\'t point that out to him more clearly in my posts and for that I\'m also sorry).
Now he has asked me to close this thread, but I\'m not inclined to just yet as I think that there are a few of us (me especially) who weren\'t quite as charitable towards him as we could have been.
Mike.
