Whilst I can understand some peoples reservations I do think you are being a bit hard on him. I remember being young and not having enough money to buy many minis.

I\'ll send you a couple of minis you can keep, as long as you paint them and post them here.

You want GW, warhammer or 40K? Any particular race? Plastic or metal?

I think the reservations are about the kid\'s disrespectful attitude and the fact he is more or less begging for minis.

Anybody notice this gem... \"also if you give me to much i wont paint it and ill either keep it:p if its so much that iv got to pay for extra postage.\" It is in his first reply. How about using this postage money you apparently have to buy your own minis?

To catman:
Get a job. If you aren\'t 16 or the legal age to work a normal job, even I had a newspaper delivery route when I was 11. I\'m sure it isn\'t that different in the UK. Good things in life don\'t come free. Like everyone else has said, please learn to put intelligible sentences together. Jibberish might fly on the kiddie message boards, but it won\'t make you friends here.

Also, what is the deal with insulting us about our trust? You come here, ask us to send you our minis because you don\'t have enough cash to buy your own, and assure us you will pay postage to ship them back (that is, unless postage is too much). There is a lot of trust on this board. I\'ve traded with many people, and bought minis off many people. You just don\'t inspire much confidence. Hell, I\'d have no problem donating something to an intelligent and respectful youth who was just starting out, but I won\'t deal with this.

Catman, you say you get some money but not enough for an army. Maybe you could just buy the occasional blister pack for the time being. Back in the day (yes I know minis were cheaper then) I built up my army gradually using my pocketmoney.

Also, if you celebrate Christmas, or any other gift-giving event, and you have any say in what you want, then it\'s only 2 and a half months away. Be patient, my young friend.

ok Im sorry and ill try to spell write,
@ to roger bunting, I do do that but £10 a month isnt that much. I did get an army (a small one) but then gw just bring out new nicer minis which i like more.
@ to jake sh, I dont try and be disrespectful but every one seemed to be taking the idea apart before it could begin.

@ to trevor, thanks for the offer but if you want them on here that might not work because we dont have a good camera (the only cameras we have are phone ones)

@ to lono, lol

@ to deamonherald, I agree its just I was trying to say was that they might be sick of me, they spent half there summer and they might have been :cussing: of for not winning anything.

@ to TAB studios/ tracy, thanks :D

@ to deamon herald, I know Im not \"known\" but Iv still been in this hobby for 2+ years so im not a newbie who wants to steel your models.

@ to averlon, its ok:beer: its just the only replys were about my spelling and how its risky.

@ to freak in a cage, sorry about the -got to earn somethings- but I dont know how to earn your trust if everyone buts critism on here.

@ to strateegos, I think its just closed down but on the next one ill try and do it.

@ to dragonsreach, I know I dont have a big presense (sp.) but Iv got to start somewhere;)

you\'ve got to think what you would do if someone knocked on your door and said can i borrow your computer, i may give you it back but i may not. There are untrustworthy people on the internet and thus users have learned to be wary. you need to work for trust. You can buy mini\'s cheap enough second hand, get them painted up and put the pics on here. someone you know must have a camera to take pictures for you. then people can see your work. do you have friends in the hobby? maybe you could paint some for them wether they pay or you do it free. get involved in the forums, and as someone said join the mini exchange, you must have a mini you could swap.
It may seem people are being harsh but its a two way thing and at the end of the day they aree just pointing out things that will help you.

Catman; Hey mate! I\'ve read your posts, and the other guys replies.. What I see the general idea here is actually pretty good. What you need to know, is that the human mind, is suspicious pr. default. If someone says: \"Here, take this\" our mind will immediatly say \"Why? What is wrong with it?\"

I see the point of your post, and I generally think your truthfull, but don\'t expect people to take to it kindly...

Your maybe what? 13-14 years old? You got alot of time to accumulate miniatures. Start off slowly as Roger says, buy a blister occasionaly... actually enjoy the time where you don\'t have too many projects like us oldies... trust me!

Your intentions are great, excecution is not so great. This is not the way to do it.

And don\'t get discurraged by some of the harsh words people portray...

I think its this attitude that isnt making you many friends mate. Going from a \"shady\" commission offer to asking for a $44 model isnt cool in my book. You should be gratefull for whatever generosity people show you without any preconceptions.

I\'m not going to rehash what others have said, you\'ve been given alot of good advice from these fine people. Take it on board.

You can find some bargains on e-bay. I got 32 plastic skaven (not the current ones, those from the previous range) for about £1.

pipboy im not asking for them per say, but Im just saying that maybe someone has an old green knight model they dont want, ill paint anything :D. anyway can the mods close this threads please, theres to much hassle about an idea I thought of in the park, it leads to people giving me \"advice\" that has been told to me by other people already.
Someone else do it, someone who wouldnt have loads of members turn the idea round and make me sound all guilty about things like spelling.

hey, no one is being malicious just simply stating facts with the sole purpose of trying to help you out. Using the advice will help as these guys have probably being the single greatest asset in my painting improvement (such as it is!!), if you dont want to use then fine but at least be gracious that it was offered

I know but it seems everyone reads my first post, skips the rest and puts in my mistakes like atitude or spelling. so I dont see the point. And I try not to be harsh but if everone points out my mistakes of course ill get angry, and I even put a long post saying sorry to everyone but iv still done it all wrong :(.

I don\'t think it\'s about being a posting freak or senior member. You can get to that status and never have painted a mini. All you have to be able to do is talk a lot (I should know). I think it\'s more about showing people what you can do and that you have some charecter. Those things, like all good things in life, take time. (I can\'t spell for crap either BTW)

The other thing is, most people here have the minis they have because they WANTED them in the first place. They may not be able to paint them all, but the was something about the mini that caught thier attention enough to cause them to buy it in the first place. Even with all the minis I have floating around it takes hours for me to select what I\'m going to give someone in the mini exchanges because I look at a mini and have to weigh my feelings about giving it away compared to the fealings I imagine the recipient will feel getting it. So asking for something that \"you don\'t want\" might not net you much.

yere but as people have pointed out, iv only posted 50/60 times and they dont know if they can trust me, I mean if you did it im sure it will work because they \"know you\".

also the point is I paint it and give it back, so you dont have loads of unpainted minis you like but loads of painted minis you like. so when I \"asked\" for the green knight, its because I really like the model im not asking to keep. or anything.

Probably not, but thanks for the vote of confidance. ;) But I see your point there. Ny advice, for what good it will be; Hang in the forums but post some things. That\'s way more important than the chatting. Ultimately, posting the minis is what gets you a rep. I only have a few up and I know I haven\'t much of a rep yet where it comes to painting.

thanks:D so ill post this model im painting then I might sell it or swap for another model :D
or maybe I should stop dreaming about getting a decent price:(
lol

paint it up and post it, if its good enough you could risk ebay or maybe someone will swap that for an unpainted mini. that way you build your rep and you gallery too
