Great looking squad, looks like the type of squad that Skele would paint and go and win a demon with, knocking me out of the running as usual - pesky Swede :soldier:

Thanks for the nice compliment sir! and haha yea I think they would look awesome with his paints on. His awesomely dark gritty style is the most suitable look for these dudes :)
But I'll definitely strive to at least match the standard of the sculpts even tho it was like 10 years since I painted a mini haha. Practice, practice practice ahead! :D

well that squad had been a lot more fun to paint than the pesky greatswords that almost kicked me out of this hobby for good.

Haha, it's always more fun to paint blood, pustles, boils and rusty metal than shining armor and healthy stuff if you ask me! :D or I think I'll find it more fun at least. hehe :) anyway, as I wrote over at your log, your squad is totally brilliant!

Stef the doctor orders No More Squads For You!! Only really cool minis and busts. Can't have you leaving the hobby! Unless it's a really cool nurgle squad like this that's allowed. ;)

Hahaha! Thanks man! :) and nah Skel should definitely stay! ;)

Update later tonight I guess!

Just a tiny update. Maybe not so interesting for everyone, I don't know. Well, just sharing some loose ideas/sketches. :)

Some lurking in the darkness..

Love the drawings! Keep at it! Have you checked out any of Blackadder's threads on here? He models titans and other large vehicles from scratch. He has a much different approach than you technically, but I would love to see some Nurgle titans!

Thanks a lot for all your commenting dudes! It really motivates me to get such a response from you but at the same time I feel guilty for not responding back to all of your awesome and inspiring plogs and sharing my thoughts and ideas! But I'll take my time and really do that in the near future, I promise! :D Just quite busy atm. Well, expect a bigger update tonight! :) cheers all!

And btw if you've any ideas about designs/paint scheme/whatnot, please SHARE! Everything is welcome! :) Gonna do some more marauders and also warriors, ogres, trolls etc etc next so bring it on! :D

Looks incredible. I can't wait to see your skills with a Series 7.

If you need a long term vision, or an entire Army to base your work behind, look into Forgeworld's Throne of Chaos book. It is essentially a Nurgle inspired Chaos Army, if you are unfamiliar. It is led by Tamurkhan, a chaos champion on a giant bile Lizard. Then he has rot knights and other Nurgle inspired leaders. But he travels the lands and defeats these Ogres, who in turn join him and become rotting husks of their former selves. He also recruits bile trolls. But eventually he even joins forces with Chaos Dwarfs. Your plague ogres would fit in perfect here. As well as your other Nurgle paraphernalia. For me it can help to have some fluff and long term vision.

Great drawings, I love those Faber-Castell markers. Are you a professional illustrator by any chance? Great sculpts too!

Thanks man! :D and wow I love that kind of stuff! Very inspiring and exactly what I like! I've seen that book in different places and it's really tempting and Tamurkhan.. Man that model is totally awesome! :) yea you're right about the fluff. It's always nice with some background stories and stuff but I really need to update my knowledge I think.

kickass illustration that last one. make it a mini and ill paint it ;)

Haha thanks mate! That would be awesome, not particularly this (boring) design but something similar sure. :)

Well stick with it! I started with fine art in college and every one of my professors discouraged me from drawing or sculpting the monsters. All they ever wanted to see was apples in a bowl or super abstract bla. I eventually left and got a crappy social science degree, but a big part of me wishes I had stuck it out.

What Demi said. I studied Art, fine art, sculpture, Painting and digital for years at college and I have to say that my tutors beat the joy for it out of me.Only now am I reconnecting with it in a way I want to. Draw what YOU want to draw. Paint what YOU want to paint. Don't loose your passion :)

Go for it man! Be prepared to work like slave for a lot of years, but once you make it though that difficult starting time you shouldn't have a shortage of clients.
I abandoned my Graphic Design career after being hit in the nuts by one economic crisis after another in the early years of the noughties, and also because I was rather specialized in 3D, and that was a non-existant sector in Belgium around 2000-2004. IT turned out to be way more stable, and model painting offers an outlet for my creative spasms, but those of my mates who were more the 'classic' illustrator graphic designers weathered the meagre years somewhat better and with time comes a fatter portfolio, which opens more doors...

I'm an art student too, (and this is my last year uh oh) I guess I've had a good experience as I've loved all of my classes and teachers and can't wait to get into the industry full time. Miniature painting is also a great creative outlet that doesn't feel like work. Looking forward to your next posts!

Yea it's very important to not let people discourage you. I don't really get why some people have such a negativa attitude towards art-related paths in life.

Too bad you had that kind of (stupid) mentors. But I'm glad you're starting agan with the art creating! :D Yes I'll do that, and trust me, I will never lose my passion and goals, it's My biggest reason to live. :)

Thanks man, I'll definitely keep pushing forward! Ah I see, a lot of peeps with art backgrounds on here it seems. Thats awesome! :D Are you doing any 3D-modeling nowadays?

Nice that you find your classes and teachers to be great! Wish I felt the same when I was studying art. And yea, miniature painting/modeling is awesome in a lot aspects. :)

It's been a while since my last update so it's definitely time for some pics! (More to come soon)

The Lord (he will get a scythe) - wip

The beast of Nurgle duo - early wip

And a family shot :)

Hope you like it! Have an awesome day/night people! :)

Especially like the base for the mounted guy. Very cool. For these converted pieces with GS and milliput and then metal and plastic, often it is difficult to see what the artist is going for until it's all been primed. If it's all one color it just comes together as single unit, so can't wait to see this.
