Do you ever wonder if you can get fired for painting little Naked Women?

My feelings on the matter are mixed, and I can\'t commit to one side of the fence or the other. However, he stated that he knew that his \"clients\" wouldn\'t be happy to know what he was doing. He wore a mask. He even had duct tape on his shoulders, I\'m guessing to cover tatoos? Right or wrong, he knew what kind of a risk he was taking.

As far as getting fired for painting naked women? Are you on national television with it? If not, then who\'s the wiser? It\'s far from pornographic (unless you bought those creepy little porn minis from ebay a few months ago,) and no different than any nude painting you might have on your wall. My opinion at least.

If you think back to when you were in school (might be a long time ago for some of us), if a teacher can\'t command respect from his students then he can\'t teach them.

These kids were probably pissing themselves laughing at him in every lesson, wouldn\'t you?
\"Theres the dude who paints with his wang!\"
Kids are easily distracted. If he had kept it private, there probably wouldn\'t have been an issue, but every moron seems to want their 5 minutes of fame.

When I was at school we had an art teacher who went on Mastermind and got the lowest score ever on his specialist subject. (NIL lol still makes me laugh thinking about it) none of us paid any attention to him because we kept taking the piss and he was sacked ( or left). Lack of respect for him and he couldbn\'t control his classes anymore.

just popped in to say i hate american prudity more than ever.

just goes to show how little a person has to do to \"shock\" americans.

every time this rubbish comes up i can\'t help but think of the simpsons episode where they formed a committe to get rid of michelangelos david.

the act of painting your self then rubbing the paint off on canves is NOT illegal. it is NOT even in the bible. (except maybe with one of the commandements that no one ever paid any attention to.)

so how does it become perverted then? plain answer is stupid american pruditry. yo momma would be shocked. well yeah maybe if she saw him painting but she didn\'t did she! because she wasn\'t invited. no one there was forced to be and no one whos seen footage was forced to.

this from the country that exports more pornography that any other in the world.

could be worse

Sydney McGee of Frisco Texas claims she was fired for taking 5th graders to an art museum where there were some nude paintings and sculptures.

best link I could find

I fully admit the USA is screwed up. Nudity is considered unduly harmful yet we let the amount of graphic violence on TV increase 300% in the past decade without batting an eye.
violence study released

If he was competent as a teacher I wouldn\'t give a pig\'s fart what he does in his spare time.

It\'s not about prudity, it\'s about employer standards. If I were a taxpayer in his state then he is employed by me (due to the amount of Federal $\'s sucked up by the Dept. of Education he is technically still employed by me and other taxpayers). What\'s more he is employed to discharge a very solemn task, teaching impressionable children. The coverage of this indicated that the students found out from the net what he was doing long before the board reprimanded him.

ritual: Who defines what is morally acceptable and decent, when it\'s not breaking the law? Is that clearly stated anywhere in those clauses? If it\'s not, then how would the contract be legally binding?
_________________________________________

For example in my contract if a parent sees me go to lets say a strip bar then with my morality clause in effect that is considered indecent and i would be reprimanded or possibly worse. here is soemthi8ng else to think as well... if the parent saw me there and was attending as well it still would not matter. it goes with the old addage \"Do what i say and not what i do.\" But also remember that in many american towns the idea of morals and ethics is tantamount to jesus christ. and i live in the heart of the bible belt. Heck a teacher in a neighboring town lost her job because she had a pentagram on and under her shirt. the people said she practiced satanism and it was just wicca... (sorry wiccan pony) it was sad. she did the same as any other person did. She wore her religion just like another person does a cross. the fact of the matter is that many things are two-faced and we have to learn to live with them. That is why i still think this guy got what he deserved.... he should have been prepared for the ramifications once he put paint to genitals. hehehe..... but it is pretty funny. imagine a mini made by rackham? Genital painter.... imagine doing osl on the painting underneath his legs. heheheehehe

And your point is??

What signals does thist send to these students of his (and others as well, of course)? That it is right to pick on someone for being involved in a strange, but perfectly legal, activity?

I think that is a far bigger problem than any \"moral\" issues...

Thanks for answering! It pretty much justified my fears about this... that it is hypocrisy, more or less! But, I guess it\'s true what you say... regardless of how you feel about it, if you want to work as a teacher you have to live with and adjust to the situation at hand!

I would say \"did she sue?\", but if it was me, I\'d just leave for greener(-necked) pastures. Leave the pentagram-haters to wallow in their own stewing religious freakishness.

I can\'t imagine painting minis with my wang. I mean, how would I dot the eyes with the equivalent of a windsor and newton size 1.... I mean, never mind....

Give me a break on this crap.

You take every chance you get to bash America. We get it..You hate America, let if freaking rest.

It seems to me that you have formed an opinion on America based on Television shows, advertisements, Hollywood, and retarded news items.

I live here, the people I know and work with are NOT money grubbing pornographers who form committees to stop art and feed thier kids donuts and sugar juice.

There are plenty of Americans on this forum....do you paint them all with the same brush?

ok i dont usually get angry about what someone says, but get off your high horse man.... i live in america and i love it... i know our country\'s stuff stinks but i am sure your country does a few things wrong... i believe you are from australia and they have yet to sign the kyoto accord for clean air cars just like the u.s. has not. please from now on remember that we are a nation and just because some have made it bad, does not mean we all agree with it.... so stop grouping all of us in the same space and think about getting off your soapbox.

sorry man but i dont put down other peoples countries as a rule of habit and i am american so i guess i am proving your idea of our culture being fat and obsessed with coke all to heck...

and btw i happen to like pepsi :)

hehehe.. no hard feelings i hope.

@ farseerlum: Yeah, screw America,
Going into countries, overthrowing dictayors, then moving out.
Stupid gits, they should just do like the British Empire did and take em over, set up a ruling class and mercilessly torment the peasants.
Maybe even have a king that will impose a national religion.
Or like Germany, or Japan, or France, Spain, etc.etc.
At least you Aussies are on the right path, slaughter the aborigines, but it\'s ok , cause it\'s your country, right?

Pot, come in, over.
This is kettle.

Politics/shmolitics am I the only one who noticed the quote from this guy\'s attorney?

\"Chesterfield lost a tremendous asset today,\" lol

For me, the high point of the story. Now I\'m going back to painting my kitchen... with my wang ;)

Yeah, I noticed the asset comment. I\'m surprised it took three pages to mention. lol

People get dismissed frivolously and people get dismissed legitimately. We have no idea what this fellow\'s agreement with the school district was. Lots of areas in America have \"schools of choice\" where parents can send their children to any one of a number of area schools. If this fellow had a negative impact on enrollment at his school because he made a very public display of his off-hours activity, then he is probably getting what he deserves.

And Highbulp Billy, if you can paint your kitchen with your wang, then clearly you chose miniature painting as a way to compensate.
