Wow, thanks guys, I never expected such response, it was my first time doing NMM on this scale and honestly I was jus improvising without any grand plan :D I'm glad that it worked :D

More progress on the Stormcast. Nearing completion now, purple cloth, sword and the face mask left. I might actually be able to finish before the weekend :)

It's supposed to be metal. I wanted it to be gold to match the other symbols, but it was too similar to the cloth, so I repainted it to mimic the material of the armor.
carry on then...you achieved the effect!:)

btw, what purples are you using? They are luscious.

Purple is just basecoated with Scale75 Sunset Purple, I didn't yet start to highlight and shade it.

Yay - especially if you can bring some of the OSL/reflection into the surrounding armour.

I don't think that I can pull it off - actually, the only OSL I ever did was based on your tutorial for Skaven bases ;) I even recorded a video tutorial based on it, gave you a shoutout in the video :)

Ha! ok must go check that out.

The OSL can be as simple as adding a tiny amount of orange alongside the white highlights you have already been using on the armour plates. Maybe worth a test run on something else first though if you are not confident.

I love your stormcast, brilliant work. And the sword looks pretty nice too.
Agree with Harster, OSL is the next step to make it even better.

I'll try to do some OSL after I finish the rest of the model. I think I will try to simulate it in Photoshop and ask for your opinion before I do that on the mini, I'm not confident that I can make it.
Also, another quick update on the Stormcast, finished purple cloth and started to paint the second side of the sword, still a bit more work needed there to blend everything better.

Great work on the stormcast but the sword really adds another level. I've already saved these pics to my "steal these ideas"...ummm... I mean, my "inspiration" folder. And I agree about adding a little OSL to tie everything together.

really nice work on the stormcast. I have to agree with the others that the sword looks amazing. And dang after seeing that base purple, I think I need to pick up a bottle of that

Thanks guys! I wanted to finish the model tomorrow but my kid got sick so that probably means a week off painting for me. Sucks, but that's life I guess ;)

Sunset Purple is such a nice colour! To be honest out of all Scale75 range I've yet to find a colour that is not at least "fine", most of them being in the "freaking amazing" zone ;)

Sorry to hear about your child, I hope she/he gets better soon.
In the meantime, this model is looking amazing. You don't look like you are even breaking a sweat. I say go for the OSL! :)

Work on the Stormcast is delayed a bit as I wanted to record a tutorial about the molten metal blade effect. So I did that, this is the sword I painted for the tutorial purposes. I think it came out really good.

Very nice! This one looks even better than the previous one you did. Looking forward to watching your YT vid on how you did it.
