A slightly RIVETING update!!!!

Yes, the title is corny but it fits :):)
Ok, not alot done but the collar for the chest armor was a TOTAL pain in the ass...
Helmet has been refined and is finished other than maybe adding a trim piece around the bottom edge and the horns/blades/stabby things that are going on the sides. Those won't be added till closer to the end so as not to break 'em off.
As you can see, I've opted to break the cheat armor down into sort of sub-assemblies to make it easier for me. The top collar and the bottom are done as far as I'm concerned. Very little will be done to the back as he will have a big fur topped cloak by the end. I went ahead and painted the inside of the collar as very little of it will be accessible at the end and my painting skills are not only very rusty, but also were never that good to begin with. :( I have started adding the rivets around the edge of the shield. Lots more holes to be drilled and filled but it's a start.
Thanks for all the feedback and support so far gang! It's much appreciated!:good:

Have sum pics....

Um...no? Just a wee bit left to do. Moar putty, moar rivets, more, sanding, more paintz....
Also, I'm thinking of leaving his hand like that, you know, to show it off....

Slowly chuggin' along.... Hmm, I just got thirsty for some reason..... Wha? Oh right....

Shield is done. Sword is close to being done. Chest plate finished with the exception of some minor cleanup, adding the trim and deciding whether to sculpt the emblem or try to paint it freehand. Even tho i've painted minis off and on for years, methinks my sculpting skill are probably better lol. I also inadvertently "fixed" the shield height problem.... As I was cutting off the hand to redo it, I broke his arm at just the right spot to allow me to reposition his forearm at a slightly higher angle!

Haz sum pikters....

Now I am really liking this. The addition of the breastplate made all the difference, before that I was skeptical that it would turn out good. But now I know it will look great! Well done, and keep up the good work.

Thanks MC. I am still a little unsure of how it will turn out. I think the breastplate helped, but I think overall it will depend on how the shoulders turn out that will make it shine or fail. More to come soon!

hey matey nice smooth progress there. i am still however not convinced that the legs are long enough *cringes waits for sound of breaking spirit....* i may have a relatively painless cure...cut him at the back of the knees remove the knee pads then lenghten both the calves and the thights and re attach the pads you will likely have to pin him with wire.
hope my comments are a help and not a hinderance, its just the legs look to be the same lenght as the torso or slightly shorter.:rain:again apologies for raining on your parade.

Lol cassar, no worries. Coming from someone with your leet carvin' abilities, comments are always helpful! I just wonder though, if the angle of the pic is creating or at least adding to the appearance of dimensional issues? Would a more head on pic help?
