This mini came to "life" in a slightly different way than how I usually go about things. Normally I decide to paint a mini and construct a base for it simultaneously, or after the mini is complete. This time I started making a base more or less to try out some new things I had bought (pigment powders, fine-scale nuts and bolts, etc.) and had it vaguely in mind for a different mini I was painting at the time. When I started building the base I got carried away with the war-like appearance and I realised that it wasn't suitable at all for the mini I had in mind. So, I got this mini for it instead. I started painting the mini when the base was more or less finished. I haven't painted anything this sci-fi oriented in a long time, so I took the opportunity to try out some techniques I haven't done before. Chipped armour, for instance. Comments are as always more than welcome. Anders
