Blood Raven Veteran

I think its a bad picture but since im only 15 I cant afford a nice camera. This guy was just a mini to try and improve my skills in painting and I think I did ok. Please comment on this guy so i can work on getting better with your comments.

Definitely your best yet and you have shown incredible improvement over such a short time. You're picking out details and have tidied up your painting really well. You need to experiment a little with metallics to find the technique that suits you best - drybrushing "boltgun metal" over black, ink wash and touch up with "chainmail" works quite well for me. Generally try to avoid really bright metals as the don't look real. Good work, keep it up ;)

Couple of things to always remeber. 1. use a white or graded back drop and two light sources to take your pic. Idf you dont have a macro then get in as close as you can. Then trim all the excess of the pic so your mini is as big as possible. 2. Watch mould lines. They can really spoil a mini. No matter how well it is painted they will always make the mini suck. 3. Paint rocks. Real rocks dont look real at this scale so paint the rock on the base. OK so your mini looks pretty good. I would do a black or dark blue wash on the metal bits and the helmet looks unfinished. Still you have the basics down just need to step them up a bit next time. Nice work keep it up.
