Zombie Miniature Painting Question from a Non-painter

Very nice paintjob! Doesn't it bother you that Josh isn't the same color as the one on the character card? I know for sure that I'm following every color-scheme to the letter!

Well, my friend who is working on these for me told me I could choose the colors, or he could paint them his way and they would look better, so I deferred to him. So far I am super excited. It might bother me on some level if I'm being completely honest, but I don't think we'll have any trouble keeping track of who is who once it's all done.

I'm totally stealing that idea for the base. The black with a single line for the colour of the model, is brilliant, and looks sharp for a table top piece.

I didn't pay close attention to the base line being the color of the figure. I thought (dumbly) that is was a yellow line in the road. Which I also thought was a cool idea.

I imagine just a bit of masking tape before base coating, and then removal of the tape is all it is, at least thats what I'll be doing.

Haha I thought the same thing about the yellow. Woops. Leaving a strip unpainted is a cool idea too.

Thought I would share my second miniature ever painted! This hobby is very time consuming and it takes quite a steady hand to get to the little details.

This was painted with no cleaning or primer as I didn't really have time to clean and prime before I decided to take an hour out of my busy week to paint. I have since pre-washed and primed several models for the next time I decide to randomly paint one.

Got my Zombicide a few days ago .... the full set is on the table mid game so I picked an Abomination to get started on, it's as you can see a work in progress. Interesting challenge as I have not painted a miniature for over ten years and looking forward to practicing and getting slowly a full gaming set completed.

Do yourself a favour and remove the mold line before painting them. The endresult is so much better

Personally I found the plastic they used to be a bit difficult to trim. Plus when looking at 100+ zombies for a board game, I just didn't have the time. I did focus more on cleaning up the mold lines for the survivors, but that wasn't easy compared to metal or even resin.

I deliberately chose not to, this is my gaming set, not for competition or display purposes. But yes, I agree, for individual miniature painting for quality, trimming mould lines and vent points is critical.

Very nice work on the singlet! He looks good. In fact, of the whole set, the fatties are what I am looking forward to painting the most for some reason. They just ooze character! My gf has already said she wants to paint Wanda, could have a good painting session later in the week.
