Zombicide Kill Counter

weird.. when i load it up in chrome, its at the bottom of the window where it should be and isn't in the way at all..
Still overlaps for me.

Win 8, Chrome 32.0.1700.102 m

I had a play in Chrome's Developer Tools, and if you simply remove the "position: absolute;" from the ".footer" style in style.css it ends up int he right place.

Have just noticed my Chrome wants to update, though, so I'll try that.

EDIT: Nope, version 32.0.1700.107 m still does it too.

EDIT2: Emptying Chrome's cache didn't help either.

EDIT3: Changing "bottom: 0;" to anything non-zero works too.

Thanks for your help Scorpion!

It bothered me that IE wasn't using the right font for the player name, and chrome it was inserting a 1 pixle space between all the graphics.. As you mentioned about the bottom bar, my tablet was experiancing that as well..

This evening I spent the night cleaning up the code, digging up fixes and and changing a lot of the CSS around. Everything should be working good now *Fingers Crossed*.. I fixed Chrome's cell padding issue, IEs font problems, and just changed out the footer bar to something slim and included some helpful links to the manuf. rules and missions.

Let me know if you come across anything else that needs tweeking.. I think im going to take a bit of a break from this script, and design a mission to play on the weekend with the buds :)

And lets be honest.. it gives me the rest of the week to figure out how to add skill trees but not take up much more screen real-estate ;)

I've just discovered both Zombicide (missed both Kickstarters :( ).

I hate mucking about with (and damaging/scratching) the dashboards and sorely wished the official app was updated.

I even thought of making my own utility, until I found this! Thanks for making it, Telnets! It works great for me on Firefox, too.

I will confess that I've "modded" it (see attached) for personal use it to include both skills and equipment for each Survivor; let me know if you want to see what I did, though it needs further tweaking IMO (for example, I'd love to have had the actual equipment card graphics, but I don't have scans of them) and my HTML/Java skills are fairly rubbish. My main concern was keeping it legible yet not take up too much of the screen (and some of those skill/item names are pretty long). Replacing the ugly dropdown boxes with custom-themed ones matching the rest of the design would obviously be an improvement too, but right now I just wanted something that would be usable.

I was going to even tweak it further to have the pre-gen survivors (Amy, Doug, Phil, etc.) "selectable" with the appropriate skills already in place, but decided in the end that having ALL skills available (drawn from a separate Java file/array to make updating the lists easier) to choose from means any survivor or even custom ones are compatible.

Anyway, congrats on doing such an awesome job with this and making my introduction to Zombicide so much more fun! :)

I like it! if you havent already, grab the code from last night, it will be a LOT cleaner and easier to work with.. then what i was using while I was just making it functional.

I like how you did the drop down menus for the skills, and if you don't mind, id like to incorporate that same sort of thing into my "official" one. Do you know enough java to be able to disable the drop-downs until they reach a color? that would be a nice feature

Thanks!

I've played a few games with it already and it was really helpful to have the added functions, but that's just IMO. I'll hopefully have time this weekend to tidy it up and send you the modded version if you're still interested. I'll also take a look at adding the level limitation function you suggested (though I can't promise).

I did quickly add one other new thing after updating to your newer version (thanks for the heads up!): a little "biohazard sign" button you can click to turn from green (human) to red (undead/infected) for each Survivor in order to track their "Zombivor" status if you're using those optional rules from TCM/PO, or to mark a Survivor as "infected" if you're playing with some sort of house rule for such things. It would be cool if clicking the "Zombivor button" also turned the grey survivor GUI red or something cosmetically neat like that, but right now it's just for simple functionality.

Looks great!.. one issue I see is additional Ultrared mode skills cant be listed unless you add in more skill dropdowns.. but then the interface just becomes too bulky and its no longer a quick to look at utility for scores.. but more or less a full card replacement kind of thing

if anyone knows how to change the script so the background turns colours instead of the icon, ill take it ;)

Or if anyone knows a source to have all the cards from the game in digital format!

You should ask Guillotine Games.

Firstly as to whether they're happy for you to use images of the cards, and secondly, if they are, whether they could provide you with suitable assets.

That would be awesome. I've liked the trackers I've seen so far that you guys have created. I wish GG would release more assets. I'm sure a fan would make a good app. ^_^

Most of the cards are available in Digital Format from their site.

This is a crap photo, but here is my collection of cards.

This also includes Padre, Honk, Red Cap, Angry Mary, Mitch and another from the guest designers that they have put up.

The only ones I think that were not on the site that had to be downloaded were The Cardboard Samuari.

So pretty much all of these were made for assets that they have made availale...

What they don't show or give, is the zombivior versions, but that is not really a drastic change apart from art. The way I have looked at getting around it is modifying the card like so...

So perhaps with this digital version, it could be considered to change some of the graphic assets to indicate the difference between survivor and zombifier.

Yes there are a few skill changes at times, but if we are using drop downs etc for the cards, that is a manually job anyway.

For character art, go to the Survivors and its possible to save out the assets they have for each one there.

If there is a copyright problem - what about - the possiblity of people loading their own cards in that form part of the background with your tracker overlaid. Just a finger in the wind suggestion but that way no (C)'s are being abused and people can use their own assets that GG have made availabe for at the very least - personal use ?

Please keep up the great work your doing on this. I hope that this makes it into an app at some point.

Are you talking about the official Guillotine Games' Survivors here?

Because, if so, I've not gone through and checked every single one, but those I have looked at include both the Survivor and Zombivor dashboards now.

TCM gives you new Zombivor cards that replace the original S1 cards.. so i think everyone has a Zombivor version now.. not sure

If I were you I wouldn't worry about having official card/dashboard art in it.

Frankly, it just doesn't need it, and will just make the interface bigger and clunkier.

i wont be for this project, this project is more of a "group" tracking page and its doing exactly what i want it to do..

I am working on a single player card replacement because im bored most nights.. and it will be more or less more like the app (as best i can do anyhow) and be something i just use for myself to track my own player..

ill post in another thread so it can get some feedback seperately from this one

Sorry to hear that, mate. I was enjoying tweaking this for you and was hoping you'd want to keep working on it with me. A bit disappointed that I spent the whole weekend working on making it "tabbed" and adding "virtual cards" to it too (see below).

I've seen several comments since I was last here saying that the official app will be updated "sometime soon" (though I've read rumors it will move to a paid app!), but I still like the idea of an open-source alternative that would support custom survivors, item cards, etc. (something I doubt the official app will ever be able to do).

Gents,

Either way - your onto a fantastic thing here.

Telnets with his great work and banjo_oz with the developments. This is a great community project and think it should continue.

banjo_oz, that is showing real promise what you have done there.

I have an Apple Dev license that I used for resigning old apps and a couple that I beta tested but the profile run out. Now, I am not good at coding - but - all is not lost.

I have been reading about this... http://www.nimblekit.com/index.php

banjo_oz, do you have your page online so the code can be tried by any chance ?

Oh I haven't given up or anything.. Im just "done" with this specific version.. Originally having the 6 sliders all on one page was for our gaming nights when we project them onto the wall for everyone to see our progress.. and for that, it works perfectly so i consider that project completed.

Im still working on a replacement for the character card. It's just being worked on a little slower.

Our versions are very similar by the looks of it. I also went with the tabs for each card. I have put in the skill droplists below the slider, and am now working on the cards. They are functional, but its going to take a few days to scan them all in and input them.

I moved the 1st player token to above the player tabs so its easy to know whos first.

When I start uploading things to my server ill be splitting the HTML up into php files and using the include features to make inventory lists and skill tree's ect a lot easier to update (one file instead of 30 areas within the HTML)

I wish there was a way to personalize the tab names with textbox input :( but at least you can add your own name on the card itself.

My progress so far

Its certainly not as nice as an APP would be.. but you gotta do what you can

Hey Guys! Update time...

While the "overview" slider bars are complete, ive been compelled to create a digital replacement for the player cards. This is my first stab at it.

Only the wound card works right now. I am working on the others as you read this and will update the forums when I have uploaded them. Im going to start with the Vanilla card deck first, and then add TCM, Dogs, and POB shortly after.

This is more or less gearing towards people who play single player with more then 1 survivor (Mission testing, ect), or for someone who wants to take on more of an Master type of role with the game.. Personaly, i find it a little slow using the digital cards then just keeping them on the table, but hey, i was bored :)

Lemme know what you think! Ive tested it with FireFox Chrome and IE (v11) and it seems to be working. It also works on my Nexus 7 tablet (and you can drag the XP bar!) and i hears rumors it works on an Ipad but i dont own one to know first hand.
