Are you serious?!?!?! That is utter bullshit. Gotta love this software bundling as a lame attempt to sucker the user into spending even more of their cash somehow:

1. Movie trailers released on the internet in Quicktime format only
2. Quicktime won\'t play them unless it\'s upgraded
3. To upgrade you must install iTunes
4. User decided to use iTunes to download overpriced mp3\'s
5. Profit! (?)

They\'re f*cking movie TRAILERS! ADS for the movies! Why are you making it so hard for us to see them? :flame:

(incidentally, if X3 sucks, which it may, I will simply pretend it never happened, just like I do with the \"Matrix\" sequels... the first two X movies were so gorram good that I could watch them many times)

pps: I am apparently an irascible old man

Yeah the iTunes stuff is absolute BS. I was so frustrated with this but finally broke down because so many things are only on quicktime.

If you\'re running windows you can just go into your Control Panel and double click on the Add/Remove Programs program... then find iTunes and uninstall it. That\'s what i did... only takes a minute, but it\'s still annoying.

You know you can disable the Online Store part of iTunes right? I love that program, and it\'s kinda necessary for a guy like me who has 2 iPods ;)

3G and nano for anyone interested

Anyway the trailer is bloody hot, and I love how you can download one that\'s like twice the resolution of my 19\" screen :D

comic nerd alert...

Its hard to believe Frasier Crane is going to be the beast! But after seeing the trailer, I\'ll give the benefit of the doubt...

Thats one guy who I thought I\'d never see an action figure of...

Do any of you remember in either the first or 2nd movie, there was a scene in a bar , and on the TV there was Dr. Hank McCoy...(the Beasts real name) talking about mutants I think.

Also, when Mystique was accessing the secret mutant files, one of them was Franklin Storm (who is Mr. Fantastic/Invisible Girls son).

I\'m sure there are tons of these little goodies throughout the films, those are just a few that I caught.

i saw the xmen 3 website and i really like the actor they chose to play juggernaut.
i still think that the actress playing rogue is too young looking (anna paquin?) and i think that magneto should be a bit more buff. :) nevertheless, i think this will be a good movie

I have never seen any tale about the X-Men add up to what the legend should be. I didn\'t like the first two movies. I doubt I like the third. I did like Nightcrawler, but they didn\'t ask him back. He actually had character. Kind of silly not to ask him back.

Actually I hate the new \"jumbo breasted super model\" version of Rogue from the more recent comics (aka post mid 80\'s). She looks anatomically preposterous and loses a lot of the dark grace her character should have. They\'d have had to cast a porn star to match her physically. Anna Paquin is *cute*, and fits with the younger version of Rogue who, in the comics, was \"rescued\" from super-villainy at a young age.

...and i think that magneto should be a bit more buff. :)
The payoff here is that he\'s freaking IAN MCKELLAN! They got a world class thespian to play a comic book villain, albeit a really cool one, and he enjoys the role! (especially since he identifies the mutants\' struggle with his own gay rights activism) Sir Ian is definitely one of the coolest old dudes out there :)

Amen to that, NSA. To my mind, they couldn\'t have found a better Magneto.

Sure, he\'s not as buff as he\'s drawn, but then, in the comic, he got cloned into a younger version of himself.

to people who\'re going to nit-pick on appearances of people portraying characters: you can spend days complaining that they didn\'t cast an 8\'5\" giant to play Juggernaut, or how they didn\'t make Nightcrawler \'fuzzy\' in the second movie...
I was dead against Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, right up until his very first appearance in the movie, smoking a cigar, sucking back a shot of whiskey, and waiting for the next fight. The body language sold me on him, right then and there.

@Ebonbuddha:
i\'ll have to agree with you regarding the movie not living up to the comic legend though. :( i guess when i said \"good movie\" i should have added \"eye candy\" in parentheses. :)

@no such agency:
they did pick a good actor to play magneto though. hmm.. it would be a bit silly i guess to see him in a body suit that would make him look more like magneto in the comic book. :D

cool! I\'ll have to go back and look for the Gambit bit...

I think seeing the movie as an \'X-men outsider\' helped tremedously.

I was aware of these characters, but never read any of the X-men titles, except Wolverine.

I couldn\'t imagine a better Magneto than Sir Ian also. In fact, I think the casting for ALL the roles was perfect.

These movies made me an X-men fan. How many comic book movies do that?

How many X-Men movies are they planning to make? Anyone know? i\'ll bet they\'ll break out Gambit 1/2 way through the very last movie to save the world... that\'d be classic Gambit!

I think it\'s likely that they\'ll make as many as are profitable. Then they\'ll wait a few years, and start over with a new cast and call it X-men Begins...

Oh, wait.. it\'s been done already with the Batman franchise....

X-men Return... nope. Using that for Superman...

X-men: Year One... yeah. That\'s allowable.
