WIP Dreadnought (extremely early days)

Well it\'s been a while since I posted on here but I thought I\'d share the very very early stages of a dreadnought I\'m converting for a chapter I\'m making called \"The Iron Dragons\"
It\'s still only in the dry fit stages, so please forgive the state it\'s in. I\'ve only glued washers to the lower leg to connect the extension it.
The melta has been replaced with a flamer, the head of which is a dragon (Thought it\'d look different). I\'ve extended the legs a little to give it more height but still trying to keep the stocky look of a standard model. I\'m going to bulk out the carapace, arms and lower legs with some plasticard. But I\'m struggling with what to do about the CC arm, I\'m going to add talons to the fist but want to extend it but not sure how to go about it, that and the centre section of the body I don\'t know what to do with that (I just know I don\'t like it at the minute)
So any help is more than welcome.

I apologise for the pictures in advance. It\'s stood with one of my Iron Dragons to hold it up (the flamer is a touch heavy)

Hi Tallxii, looks fun :D How do the guns fire out of the dragon, will the lower one be out of the throat with the upper the nostrils? I\'m unsure as they don\'t appear to have been drilled yet. How many dragon bits are there to go on & most importantly will he have wings? B.

The flames will come out of it\'s mouth, after the chemicals have mixed somewhere in it\'s head. Not thought about wings though, may have to look into that.....

They are parallel it\'s just nothing is stuck together at the moment.
Does anybody have any idea\'s what I can do with the with the sarcophagus?

Press mould a Dragon head to use as an icon.

Personally I\'m not sure that the twin barrels are the \'right\' diameter for the weapon.
To me they look \'off\' for the housing the are emerging from. I\'d be tempted to go for a smaller bore tube.
But I like the overall concept.

Press mould??
The bottom picture is an earlier one in the first shots it does have a larger bore on the top feed, I tried with both having the larger pipes but it didn\'t look right.

a press mould is when you press gs over a detail, wait for it to cure then press gs into it. you will then get a lovely copy of the relief. very handy technique for conversions. there is an article on it in the article section

Could someone help me out as to where the moulding article is, I\'ve been a half hour looking and can\'t find it.

I couldnt find the article either but the general idea is to find something that you want to make a copy of i.e. dragon head in this example. Then cover the head in a light layer of something to keep the GS from sticking too, I use Vaseline/ petroleum jelly, then take your GS and press it over the top of the object and let it cure for a while and pop it off the object. Let it completely harden. Lightly coat the inside with Vaseline again then take a glob of GS and press it in the mold, again let it cure most the way pop it out and clean off the extra with a knife and viola you have a relief of your dragon head.

Ok so I got a bit more done over the weekend, the first stage of bulking up is done. The second stage will add the armour detailing. I've also mocked up a rough idea for the left arm, and I've found some hexagonal tube for the flamer tank which will look different.

If you're not in a great hurry I could have a try at a dragon's head for it. No, no charge, I just find it a cool idea!
And you're the latest one commenting on my slaanesh dread so I guess you know how I work.

I tried putting up the full size pictures but it kept coming up with a sizing error,(remote file to large) bearing in mind the first pictures are the size they all are.
@ Chrome, If you'd like to have a go I'd love to have some of your work adorning the "Big Fella"

EDIT- we'll try this,
