I have Vallejo and Reaper paints and reaper has them in already in the form of cool severed heads. I was thinking about putting some in the Vallejo but what should I use?

I swear when I read the thread title the first time I read who puts alligators in their pants.. :drunk:

Anyhoo.. small stone or glass beads work well. Just no metal..they will rust.

I knew I wasn\'t crazy I put bb\'s in them and sure enough I have little rust spots on the bottoms. Shit, doese the rust screw up the paint real bad? Gunna take them out post haste and replace with glass beads right now.

I put agitators in my bottles and used little hemitite beads i found at the local hobby store. Works great since they don\'t rust and are heavy enough that 2 or 3 are all you need in the bottles.

Just finished taking all the damn bb\'s out holy s#$t that was a pain. Hmm, now I just need to find something else for them. either that or get some Tubes, think I like them better than droppers.

Not cheap at all! Resourceful is a better word. =)

I have a couple of the GW clear plastic containers (that come in the metal boxed sets) filled with pewter tabs accumulated from years of commissions. (Yes, I have THAT much). I use them for agitators and weighting down bases on tipsy minis.

I use a really small size stainless steel nuts (no, not the ones you can eat, the ones that go with the bolts) They\'re cheap, don\'t rust, are heavy enough, and work for me.

yeah i do that as well. why chuck em out if you can use them? also, i reckon the irregularly shaped off cuts must shake it up more efficiently than a smooth bb

I use old lead pellets, been using them for decades but my supply is finally almost gone and it\'s hard to find actual lead ones anymore. Lead doesn\'t rust of course and it\'s nice and heavy by size. I tried BBs once and of course that was a mistake as I had the aforementioned rust issue. First thing I did after purchasing my Game Color paints was pull the little drop top off and drop a pellet into each one then give them a good shake.

I\'m glad for this post, gives me ideas for when my supply of pellets runs out. :drunk:

I was worried about that when I was thinking of adding ball-bearings to a few bottled colours a few years back and I wasn\'t sure if they were stainless steel. But a small amount of rust shouldn\'t be anything much to worry about (unless over time there\'s enough to start changing the colour).

Rust is, quite literally, what earth pigments are made from.

Sounds plausible.

Being the detail freak I am I wondered if maybe white-metal cutoffs would knock tiny bits off each other but since nobody seems to experience this it\'s probably not a problem.

it\'s due to being a guitarist mike, you need strong wrists which also helps for shaking paints pots.

masterbating doesn\'t strengthen the wrists.
many years of experience tells me this lol
