I'd not neccesarily consider than a prime example of it. There were after all deamon engines like that back in the old version of Epic.

Though yeah, in general GW at some point after floating themselves on the stock market saw an erosion to the "build the hobby" ideals. It ain't terribly unfair to now consider them more of a toy company than a hobby company.

Yeah it's not even about the price.......we'll know they've priced themselves out of the market nearly.

But at least they still made some semi-nice stuff................this and the new Tau manga style giant robot. Means it's now overpriced Chinese knock off looking toys.

They're not even making an effort............

How to make this

* 4 coke cans
* bottom half of a cheap tank toy
* waist and up of a cheap doll
* cardboard
* red paint

About £7

I would only get this if it was made from 4-5 other vehicles that colored-coded teenagers pilot.
.. Bah, I'm kidding!
I don't buy GW anymore. :D

Almost Perftec! Aw, crap.
I think a lot of us have out grown the GW aesthetic. They got us into the hobby cause they were the only game in town but the more i get out of gaming and into painting the less i like what i see. Price aside their sculpts and designs have gone from bad to worse. There is still the odd mini they put out with some character, but it's getting pretty bad. The DV box was the last thing i bought from them and when I'm done with that (in another 3 years) I think I'll start to sell off all my terrain and armies to fund all the other great minis out there that i want to buy and paint. I still love their paints though, but then i am starting to love all the paint companies out there. It may be an addiction o_O

I think GW is losing it to the vast array of alternative games and miniature lines out there. They have a less and less appealing aesthetic as the new stuff emerges and amazes.

Check out this game based on Journey to the West and the awesome team of Monkey, Pigsy, Sandy and Tripitaka.... Sculptor is Ray Wong who is awesome and concepts by Adrian Smith....
The board art is looking good to!

Unfortunately a lot of the later epic stuff for chaos just looked like things lumped together just to make a new machine.

Some things should stay in the past and as small lumps of lead.

This is just a poor show, with the right paint job it might not look too bad on the table IRL. But in this shot with this paint job it makes me want to load a few nerf darts in it and give it to my 3 year old, not daemon engine material.

As someone observed, this particular model is probably a remake of an Epic Khorne Lord of Battle/Death Engine.

Go to the following link, and go to the Chaos section, you'll find it somewhere there, so don't be so harsh on this fellow, he's coming from way way back..

I don't think its their worst model, no way, this title belongs by far to the Maulerfiend model

Yep, it's from the past but it was crap then, too.

Also I prefer the Maulerfiend to this model.

Hmmmm...load with nerf darts or with airsoft BBs?....motorize it, add linked tracks, add a 2.4 GHz tx system and power it with a 2 cell LiPo.... hmmmmmm...now you got me thinking!

When that model was back in Epic scale, it was fair enough. So small a scale you didn't spare a thought for the sculpting. This is big though. Bigger than most. Super Heavy tank size. Looking at this incarnation, it's so uninspiring. The "demon" part of "demon engine" is missing. Cannons and exhausts mutation-like could be pushing forth through the armour, or something. The paint job ain't terribly exciting either. Not a lot of contrast, even with the lack of contrast appropriate to larger models this is particularly plain with the same red slapped on all over. Reminds me of the 90's, known as the "red period" for the prevalence of that in paint jobs.
