But adding 'unnecessary' detail is -according to me- a treat for the customer more than anything else, especially when it comes to minis.
Like with those horses, if you decide to make a scenic uber-dynamic pose of doom conversion the shoes will already be there and so the need to add that detail will no longer be a problem.
Then again, those that do try that kind of conversion probably wouldn't care less if there was a shoe or two to sculpt...
