No need for wishy-washy Star Wars style holograms, I'm sure they can be nice & solid rather than ghostly :) Reminiscent of central command pushing little tanks around a table with long sticks, just with fancy technology glued on top :D Or paint then in a Tron stylee? Cheers, B.

My most decent idea is a ceremony or some sort or a briefing by a messenger, preferably a small chap, namely a psycher or a squat pleeing for help, but I am not convinced. Has anyone got any ideas?

Along the lines of ceremony or meeting might be that they are all attending a rousing speech by the head Chaplain (before a battle? Guillaman's Day?). This way you can squeeze in another SM model as the "other dude", in a nice offsetting black color as the focus point, on a dias, whatever. This has the bonus that the other model is actually supposed to be as large as everyone else.

(My pet peeve in WH40k: Space Marines are supposed to be these nearly 3m tall giants. Yet the models aren't much larger than a guardsman...)

aye a pet peeve for me too. i do quite like the idea of the chappy though. maybe have him reading a from a massive tome on an eagle shaped lectern. the whole 'congregation' totally fixed on him and what he is saying.

you kidding me? the imperium has worse quality technology than the current nhs!! it would be wishy-washy, if it were working at all!!

That is why I want a squat (well... and for the reason I miss them...)

I was thinking of a powerpoint idea for comedy value. Most people have to endure endless useless meetings with a moron with blue backgrounded powerpoints with stupid cartoon pictures. However, It is not as cool as an idea as the famous SM on the john or the SM painting warhammer minis.
Furthermore, it is quite off the idea that I wanted to do a UM fluff scene (10 centurions/captains, hopefully even with forgeworld's sublime UM venerable dreadnaught).
