I'm looking to see what your recommendations would be for a new game? I just graduated college and Ive been out of the loop awhile so I thought I would check here as I have no clue whats out there. Ive heard that dragon age is pretty decent, any ideas? I'm a big fan of real time strategy and RPG's

Fallout 3. It's awesome, and I've played through more than once. That's the ultimate compliment from me, as I don't play video games that often. If you're a Batman fan (or even if not) Arkham Asylum is super fun too.

There's a few nice ones out there right now: Dragon Age Origins, Borderlands, and Left 4 Dead 2. On the PS3 side I'm busy running my way through Arkham Asylum and Demon's Souls.

i agree with fallout 3 but be prepared to loose a chunk of your time

as for quicker but just as fun, l4d2 is great when playing co-op, especially with mates

and of course the whole hl2 saga

I'd say Hearts of Iron 3 on the PC. it's a real time strategy world war 2 game where you can play as any country in the world and try and win WW2 for the Axis, Allies or the Soviets. It's great fun!

I would say Fallout3 GOTY would be a great start, erm if on xbox maybe GTA episodes from liberty city and then l4d2. Dragon age is quite popular, then of course modern warfare 2 a stalwart, Arkham Asylum is a great game, Assassins Creed 2 and then if ps3 uncharted 2 is a great game too

If you like RPGs, then I see no reason why you wouldn’t really enjoy Dragon Age.. Hubby and I both like it quite a bit. Lots to do, it looks great, and the other characters you gather into your party are very interesting. Each has a different storyline of his/her own to follow in addition to the grand scale main plot and lots of side stuff you can do. I have laughed out loud on several occasions at the sharp dialogue, and hubby’s gotten teary-eyed at at least one part (I haven’t gotten to that one yet). Their previous game, Mass Effect, is also excellent, and since it’s been out a while, you might be able to find it cheaper. (That’ll be the advantage of being out of the loop for a bit, you should be able to get some great games a little cheaper!)

Can't say more about Fallout 3.
Played it twice, once as a goody-goody guy and once as a girl that would rather shoot you than give you a bottle of water.
The characters react differently according to your karma( Good or evil ) . The world ( Washington DC area ) is open to explore. There are 4 add on to the game so far. The first time I played I got about 100 hours out of the game.

I'm waiting for Battlefield 3 coming out in Spring.
OT...Did anyone see the trailer for HALO:Reach:claply:

Am I alone in not really getting Halo? The games have all been decent enough and have kept me entertained, but the story, settings, characters and alien gribbly things just leave me cold. Perhaps it's all just a bit too removed from reality. I'd much rather be kicking terrorists' arses in CODMW or Rainbow 6...

I've never played HALO and don't have an x-box or any other platform but I just love the look and feel. I almost started drooling when I say the EVA, the guy with the skull on his helmet. I'm trying to figure what changes I have to do to a 12 inch Master Chief action figure I have to convert him into the EVA.

One more vote for Fallout 3. As a fan of the first two, I can't stress how awesome 3 is. Next week I'll be reinstalling it (after a VERY long year!) and plan to spend the next month doing little else.

Of course, my plans rarely work the way I want them to, so I'll probably be lucky if I get 2 hours a week, but you know what I mean!

Thankls Chrome, but I have that figure and it is nowhere near the same armor. The helmet is correct but all the armor detail is different.

I again have to say Fallout 3 and also Modern warfare 2. If you have a psp there is monster hunter freedom unite that is a fantastic game.

You aren't alone. I've played it quite a lot with friends and it is just a really cartoony twitch shooter. Not my cup of tea.

I quite like the "Halo Universe"....but not just because of the games.

I picked up a few of the novels and found out that not are they only entertaining, but some are downright well written.

The novels help flesh out the spotty storyline, defined the 'bad guys' better, and gave you a real sense of the desperate battle they are in.

Anyhow, I don't expect everyone to like it as much as I do, but I found the fluff to be quite enjoyable....and it helped me like the game 'story' more as well.

Although the ODST thingie still leaves me scratching my head....
