Honestly?.....lol no it was a little girl. Though right now all she does it eat and poop so you could say shes a slightly bigger GUO....though Kat probally would beat me up for saying that.

As Cherub said: this one was a little girl. She\'s a handful alright and definately cuts into my painting time, but that\'s life.

As requested though, here\'s some more WIPs of the Treewoman, the pics are really dark for some reason and I\'ll work on that tomorrow when I have some daylight. The highlights are not all done on the colors I\'m working with, but with the addition of some of the pine and oak I think I can see a little more of what I was trying to accomplish start to come through.

The dominant body color will be the oak, I\'ve decided.

Now I can completely focus on the Treewoman. I\'ll try to make sure I take WIP pics and post them, I\'m just afraid I might get in the flow of painting and find myself done without posting.

Congrats on the baby! =)

I am looking forward to seeing some more shots of the treewoman, please do not forget to snap off some WIPs as you go along!

I am an airbrush newbie. I\'ve used it a little for painting some terrain so far. When you were using it on the GUO, was it just for basecoats, \"dusting\" shades from afar, and applying washes - or were you doing actual closeup precision stuff like along muscle contours etc.? I\'m curious to know how an airbrush can be used on such an apparently detailed model.

Keep up the good work!

I\'m actually pretty new to using an airbrush as well. I used mine for the base coat, some undershading and the first two main coat colors. I haven\'t had any luck putting GW washes through it, but I didn\'t try all that hard. Its all about paint consistency.

Hope that helps.

Took me ages to get some more work done on the Treewoman, I could blame it on the new baby, but its not her fault at all lol, its mostly the hubby...such is life

So anyway, I\'ve got all the base colors on where I want them, except for the hands, which I\'m still debating on how to get the blend from flesh to tree right.

Recovering Megalomaniac
This is right now my most favorite thread.
Can\'t wait for updates!
Keep up the shining example!

Were you planning on adding twig/branches and foliage?

Foliage....I wish I was talented enough to figure out how to do all that without detracting from the model itself. I saw the pics on the Ultraforge website where they added in all the extra branches, etc and loved it, but I have not ventured into sulpting yet, and am not quite ready to push that boundary. I think with this one I will stick to the simpleness that is the model. Unless of course someone has some \"foliage for dummies\" advice

i did an idiots guide to trees in the article section!

there are all sortf of options out there for foliage. try flock, paper leaves, birch leaves (sold in the cmon store i believe), foam..

thanks Freakinacage, I\'ll go read your article.

The oak is pretty much done, I\'m not sure these pics show it well, my lighting was not being cooperative and seem to have shakey hands tonight.

There\'s a family wedding this week so I\'m not sure how soon I\'ll get the next update up for you but I\'ll try for better pics tomorrow when I have more daylight.

I know I slacked off and never got it finished.

I\'m having an issue I need some thoughts on...as I\'ve painted some of the highlights on the pine I\'m starting to think that its too much of the pine...what are your thoughts?
