Hey there, I\'m new to CMON but hear that its a great place to get feedback on things I\'m working on.

This is my most recent project...I\'m going for a dark/wet earth look and oak wood for the base, its obviously not done and the details have not been picked out yet, but I wanted to get some opinions/critiques.

Thanks.

I\'ve just about finished the base, I know the base is a small part of the whole, but wanted to continue to put updated pics as I make progress.

THe base is looking excellent, keep up the good work! The skeleton looks maybe a little too white though - but thats just my opinion. Keep us posted!

I won\'t be adding grass until after I have the treewoman herself finished so that I can see if/how it fits. I was thinking of water effects around the outside of the base but have not decided for sure.

that\'s what I was thinking, b/c that\'s what I see (after reading the inspiration for the model on the ultraforge website) is an eroding river bank where the trees have joined to form the treewoman. I\'m just not sure how to properly use & tint the effects so they don\'t detract from the overall model.

Eeeeee, that\'s starting to look really nice! With water effects, I think you can just mix a little ink (or paint for a murkier look) to pretty much any of them. Which one you choose depends on how deep you want the water to be. Some water effects can only be applied in thin layers but others can be poured to the depth you want.

Okay, so got started on the Treewoman herself. I airbrushed the basecoat, which I found a hard choice for the coloring because I\'m going to be doing so many different \"wood\" colors that I didn\'t know which route to go. I finally settled on GW\'s Khemri Brown (for those who don\'t know GW paints are all I use at this point). Then I did an insane number of thin coats of various colors to get the flesh/eyes/lips.

Oh! and I found some of those goofy pigment things and tried them for the first time on the base, so here\'s a shot of it too.

Yes and no...lol...I did make a little progress on the Treewoman but I\'ve had to set her aside for the time being to get a Great Unclean One underway. Now that he\'s cleaned up and basecoated, his pics are just below the Treewoman update.

I\'m not done by far with the highlights for colors I\'ve added. I\'m going for a dominantly chestnut & mahogany wood around the fact, with a little oak and pine. Once I\'m down away from the face I\'m going to take it a little more oak and a little less chestnut/mahogany.

This is a new piece, and by far the largest model I\'ve done before. This is just the base coat, from here I\'ll be going with the catachan/camo coloring. (he has a little resin dust on him that I have to wipe off)

Heck no, I\'m working on both simultaneously. It took so long with the most recent pics b/c I just had a baby lol

GUO Update

Here\'s a couple new pics of the GUO.

Early stages with him are going quick because I\'m using the airbrush. Once I hit the details it will slow up.
