Ah well... my grand plans for entering four categories fell by the wayside (as expected)...

Down to two now, with a third if I can create an extra 30 - 40 hours from somewhere in the next two weeks to finish my (120 hrs so far and counting) Tau Hammerhead... but I doubt it.

So, it\'ll just be 40K single and 40K monster for me this time round... but as my first GD for 17 years (gulp) I am kinda treating this as a learning experience to see what standard I need to aim for to win something next year.

Managed to blag these next two weeks to work solidly on finishing touches to my two entries... just paranoid about how the hell to transport them? They are both very fragile (my 40K single entry has a servoskull on a trailing wire sticking out of it which could be broken off with a strong gust of wind! :-( planning to build a custom box/case to support them both on the trip up).

Looking forward to saying hi to some fellow painters from CMON if possible!

Getting a little excited now :)

Only twelve and a half days to go - how close are you guys to finishing?

Will be good to meet people there, just hope I don\'t have to use that repair table ;)

Yeah I was :p

I knew of the are your talking about in B-Ham.. walked through it 2 years ago. No we were talking about the continued destruction on Nottinghams city center and the slow progress of rebuilding it.

If I get finished at all it\'ll be in no small part due to a colapse of space and time where i can retreat into a stasis bubble for a few weeks!
...Thats bad ;)
Never been to a GD before so should be fun, the odds are someone at least must be up for a few jars too :]

I opted to head up on the coach my local GW store are putting on... probably cheaper than driving up myself... but does mean I arrive and leave on someone elses schedule. Will probably be up for a beer or two at lunch time though :)

As for finishing...

I\'m working onmy 40K single now... done about 50 - 60hrs on it so far... probably another 15 - 20 hrs to go on that, and 40 - 50hrs to go on my 40K monster entry... next week is gonna be a LONG week.

Well, bad news at my end. I\'ve been ill for a couple of weeks now, falling badly behind with my demon entries. Well, I apparently have Labyrinthitis which is causing me dizziness and I\'m not recovering quickly. In fact I keep relapsing.

So, the tough decision is made. I\'m out this year. No GD entries and I\'m not going to be attending. It\'s a big trip up from cornwall on the bus and a long tiring day. I\'m not going to be in much of a state for that. And, even if I\'m feeling better, it may be too much too soon.

I guess I\'ll have to lay the smack down next year instead ;)

:( That\'s bad news Steve, I was really looking forward to seeing you and your minis there :(

I hope you get well soon, and will be there next year (you\'ll have time for a lot of entries :])

SJB, you are with my thoughts, I hope you get better soon, whether you can make it to GD this year or not.

Damn that\'s bad news, but on the other hand having a diagnosis is a step forward and thankfully not it\'s the alergic reaction you thought it was.
Labyrinthitis is very similar in effect to what I suffer attacks from. I\'ve been advised to reduce my intake of Caffine and Salt, perhaps that might help you as well Steve.
Good luck and speedy recovery.

Oh, thats not good, well I hope you get better soon, do as the doctor says!!! Get a specialist diagnosis.
and make sure its not caused by inflamed disks due to to much mini working, we are all routing for your quick recovery:D

Steve,

Thats too bad. I always look forward to meeting up with you and having a chat. Get well ok.

My sister suffered a bout of vertigo about a year ago so I know what difficulties you must be going through.

Thanks guys. It\'s killing me knowing I\'m going to miss it. It\'s bad enough not being able to compete but I\'m not going to be able to meet up either and I always look forward to that.

Also going a bitr mental not being able to do anything much right now. I want to paint, sculpt or just be able to take a trip to the coffee shop. But I can\'t. At best I\'m dizzy and at worst I can barely stand. Stupid illnesses. And freaking poor timing too...
