Ugliest miniature of the last five year: NOMINATIONS!

Actually, I'm going to commit heresy by nominating this:

I know a lot of people here think it's hilarious, so now that I've said it, feel free to insult my mother, etc.

Why would we insult you, funny though it may be, it is an ugly mini. I'm still digging on this one. Someone mentioned earlier that Reaper has produced some real dogs too. I was in an LGS in Orlando reccently and saw a mini on the Reaper wall that I couldn't believe they had wasted the metal to produce. I'll see if I can find it an post a link.

not convinced b, there's cartoony and then there's just soft sculpting

Fair enough Freak, I can't muster a further defence :) Particularly for the outside ones with extra long legs!

I guess they don't make me pause in horror, eyes locked to the picture in amazement at the ugliness though. I just dismiss them with a "meh" & move on :D If they're more than a £1 each in metal I might be moved to emotion I suppose ;)

Cheers, B.

I always assumed "Mega Minis" had just bought some badly worn molds from another company and were churning out blobby crap for that reason That said, their animal models sometimes aren't bad. But if anyone was tempted to buy their human minis, better to just use paper tokens or something and spare yourself the grief of looking at something so ugly.

Agreed. Some of the animals on the megaminis site a crap too. But I have to say that I do like their Dungeon scenery stuff. I use it for our RPG.

ok really sad to say this, but i think the new rat ogres also are a great submission. i love rat ogres. but this... just make me sad. again, some of the muscles are seriously off and angular, and as said, they look like action figures. paintjob dont help out much either though... i was looking forward to this release very much and feel really devastated right now... :crying:

Those rat ogres really are toss.

Is the stuff that's painted black supposed to be fur?! There is absolutely no subtlety or finesse to the stuff that GW is knocking out. They're like 3D versions of colouring books for young children. I'd like to think it's because of the limitations of technology but I suspect it's more to do with stylistic choice :(

I dunno, I really like the new Rat Ogres as a whole. I agree, I don't know what that black "fur" is supposed to be doing. And I'm not sure if I agree with giving them eyeliner...

Still, they're great, characterful models and the Moulder behind them is perfect.

Whilst I don't like them, they don't deserve to be in this thread to be fair. Not when there are Mega Minis and those bloody awful pig-things-in-shorts. Even the bases are poorly sculpted. Looks like they were done by a primary school kid. Shame because they could be pretty funky if they got a quality sculptor to do them properly...

after seeing the new big demon thing from ex-illis, i have to say that they are making a push for worst mini ever. base is hideous, and the level of detail is sad.

i dont mind the pigs in shorts at all. i kinda enjoy the hoakyness.

In my mind, ugly, unattractive and expensive doesn't equal badly sculpted. The pig boys there for example doesn't belong here in my eyes, sure, they aren't pretty but they do have a very nice air to them, they are cute in their own way, the sculptor just needs a bit of practice judging from those but unless they are extremely pricey I can't say they qualify.

The rat ogres are better sculpted, at least when it comes to technique (one can argue about the right anatomy of magically created constructs/mutants created by mutated rats all day long) but they are pricey and not very good looking. So, A good sculpt and ugly miniature that costs too much is something that does qualify according to me. :)
