Update time!!!!! painted the base yesterday, as I've never done blood before, feel free to bludgeon me with criticism until i no longer feel my toes :p. I'm thinking I should add some darker tones to the blood but I'll wait and see.

Well, the blood could be a bit darker if you want more realism but honestly I like the way it contrasts nicely with the rest of the base.

normal household gloss varnish dabbed over the blood spatters fiddly but worth it makes the blood pop.

i actually mixed blood red with water effects, and flicked it all over using a GW tank brush, so it does shine and pop, just doesn't show up well on camera. it'll be adding varnish on top to layer it a bit and make it thicker

Quick question is this blood caused by Tyberos himself?

If it is then he's going to have to be severly splattered with red also. This may spoil the over all look.

Speaking from personal taste. I think yu've Over dosed on the old gore front. It works well on the top, but I don't like it on the side and running out of the pipe.

I think I would and again this is personally.

Make the pipe to be dripping merky green water.
Clean up the side but then darken it down with glazes of greens and browns to make it look like an old almost sewer like building.
Keep the blood on the top but vary the colour of reds

This should then draw the attention to Tyberos rather than the splatter fest.

I was planning it on being just an insanely bloody battle, due to the Carcharodon's brutal fighting tactics in the Badab War. The idea was to have the streets running with blood. i was planning on having his feet bloody as well as his claws. I'll have to see how it looks once i finish Tyberos, as you could very well be right once it's finished. If that's the case I'll definitely clean it up

Does look like a bit of an OD on the gore front to me too. Deffo one of those "less is more" rules to follow here I reckon. The blood is way too bright too, looks like a bit of paintball terrain at the moment lol! Go with more crimson tones ;)

another update, after looking at it, i agree that the gore was completely OD in contrast with the model, so i toned it all down with some heavy washes to make it look like it's all dried up now. Also, i kind of took Tyberos in a different direction then what he was painted as in forgeworld, because i wanted him to have a more "sharky" feel, with blues and greys. so here he is, pretty much finished except for some small blending i missed on the blues until i saw the pics.

I like the helmet. I the transition from Grey to White, gives it that Great White shark look.

Critiques for the future.....I would mix the blue with grey, to tone it down a bit and make it blend more with the greys.

At the moment, the blue pops out of the grey, instead of looking like it's blended from it.

Good work

Thanks, although it wasn't my intention to blend the grey into the blue, as it's separate trim on the armour. but you have inadvertently given me some inspiration for my next project, i never considered blending greyscale into colour before. This intrigues me :p
