Tyberos the Red Wake

I've decided to take a small break from my 8,000 points of orks, and really like the New forgeworld model of tyberos, as well as the backstory of the Carcharodons, so i bought my first forgeworld model to make a beginning as well as centerpiece for the new army i plan on making.

i wanted a dynamic base for such an awesome model,so i broke out my bits box and plasticard and went to work.

(the mold line on the resin block hanging off the edge by rebar will be filed)

and here's what he'll look like on the base, i glued him temporarily for the picture, i'll be painting the model and base separately

I like the base. Not keen on the pose. Looks like he's either falling over, or dancing.

Too much of a tilt in my opinion

Problem solved. I extended the top of the base a bit and have him standing more or less normally. not quite as dynamic as i had planned, but this is my first time with a resin model, so I don't wanna ruin it by doing conversion work if i don't need to. I plan on saving the conversions for the 10 man terminator assault squad he'll be leading, since it's just normal plastic.

I'll update with pictures tomorrow morning to see what you think of it, and get some more critiques. Thanks for the help guys, appreciate it

update as promised, added more to the base and repositioned him. less dynamic overall, but i think it looks a lot better regardless

Much better, I think the way you've create the bend in the floor does give the pose some dynamism (spelling). It looks like he's stomping forward for the kill whilst maintaing his balance on the uneven surface, from the positioning of the arms.

much better pose looks more like he's wading purposfully through the rubble with a view to ruining someones day as opposed to a trip and fall

Ah well, he can always drag himself forward using those chainblade thingies in his hands. :D

The new pose/composition is looking really good. That's going to be stunning piece.
I had bought that model myself, intending to turn him into a Blood Angels Captain. I was a bit disappointed that the arms came as complete pieces as I had hoped the shoulder pads could've come off. I'm still unsure what to do with him.

two options for ya meph
1. file it down and sculpt your blood angels icons on it
2. flog it on ebay

3. drag it down to the town square and symbolically burn it! lol ok i stop ranting, this termie model is actually cooler than most marines ive seen.

Thanks for the encouragement guys, here's hoping i don't mess it up during painting, as there's quite the talent to look up to on this site. I hope to post updates in a day or two :) And i agree completely Cassar, SkelletteS IS good at bases n stuff, he is indeed :p

Ah don't worry, when we don't like your paint job, we'll grind down your self-esteem so you'll never touch a brush again in your life. Erhm! I mean we'll give constructive criticisms to push you to above and beyond your own expectation, hooting and cheering all the way.
