I liked the food in Britain (and Ireland), meat pies, real breakfast (as opposed to the rolls-with-jelly-and-coffee joke they serve on the \'Continent\'), wine made from all sorts of fruit besides grapes, lots of different beer, no idea why people complain about it.
Some of it takes some getting used to, like beer served at room temperature, some of those \'bitters\', eel & mash, but you could say that for any country\'s cuisine.
Btw - McDonald\'s is about as \'American\' as most \'Chinese\' restaurants in the west are \'Chinese\'.....
I haven\'t been to a Mickey D\'s in 5 years plus, and the only way I\'ll go is if there\'s nothing lese open, or they have a cool Happy Meal toy...
