tufts of grass

Use sisal string - thats the \"hairy\" string used for parcels.

Glue or bind the end of the string then cut the length you want, say 5mm - fluff up the loose end and \"plant\" in your base. You can paint the clump either before planting or after.

You dont need to do the binding bit and can just glue it on but you said you wanted clumps;)

wow, That is like trying to explain to my wife the difference between a 2 line pass and icing in Hockey. Very easy to comprehend but so difficult to grasp.

As Spacemunkie said, \"Just use fookin static grass!\"

I don\'t know about europe, but in the US, generally you get a small baggie of GW static grass for about the same price as a quart of Woodland Scenics stuff.

Woodland Scenics is all one color of grass though, so you might want to pick up a couple or three to mix for a bit of variation. The GW stuff is a mix and has some really odd colors in it (red for instance).

Now, WS also makes \"turf\" which is like a fine fluff that I put on terrain first before the static grass.

Then there is the larger spongier stuff (Clump Foliage) that I use for foliage in trees and bushes.

And just for fun, WS makes longer grasses (Field Grasses) for making reeds, weeds or monkey grass clumps with.

Ok, now I want to know how you get the static grass to get up, in a vertical position, like grass is suposed to look like.
Every time I use it, it gets horizontal, like someone stepped on it.
Not the look I want! :)

Superglue. so it will set up quick before the grass can lay down.

for minis, drop of glue, bit of grass, invert and blow gently until glue sets.

For larger areas,

And a static charge on the grass. Either shake it up in a baggie or use a \'huffer\' like this:

use thinned PVA glue (so it isn\'t too thick n sticky) shove the static grass on, but allow it to dry with the mini upside down! - seriosuly - thats what I do.

Thank you to the four of you!
I\'ll try the gravity trick next time, and if it doesn\'t work, I\'ll just blow it :)
