thanks! surely that would mean that the edge of Antarctica is many times it\'s actual size!Originally posted by green stuff
Mr McIntyre laughs. \"This is perhaps one of the most commonly asked questions,\" he says. \"A cursory examination of a flat earth map fairly well explains the reason - the North Pole is central, and Antarctica comprises the entire circumference of the Earth. Circumnavigation is a case of travelling in a very broad circle across the surface of the Earth.\" \"
The so called flat earth map :
... no comment .
[edit]I\'d like to know how they explain seasons and temperature changes when you travel to the equator or the poles .[/edit]

One of my favourite quotes...
\"The problem in society today is that we try and cater to the chronically stupid\"....

Amos 9:6
It is He that buildeth His spheres in the heaven, and hath founded His troop on the earth. He that calleth for the waters of the sea and poureth them out upon the face of the earth--the LORD is His name.
The book of Job was pretty accurate here:
Job 26:7 \"He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, [and] hangeth the earth upon nothing.\" (KJV)
The Earth hangs in space over nothingness.
and here:
Job 26:8 \"He bindeth up the waters in his thick clouds; and the cloud is not rent under them.\" (KJV)
What translation is that? It doesn\'t seem to match anything else out there.

Biblical description of the structure of the earth was drawn from Babylon and pretty clearly describes the earth as being a flat circle (or at other times having corners) and being held up by pillars.
....I hope people who believe stuff like that just die, since I TRULY do not want any chance of kids in the future, \'learning\' anything from them. It\'s better just to remove them from the possible genepool now.

From what I\'ve read of Flat Earth Theory, there is allegedly a giant wall of ice around the edges of the earth which keeps the water from falling off.
Nope, flat plate warming.Originally posted by darklord

But a very SCARY thought.

You know, that wouldn\'t be such a bad idea for an RPG - the heroes of the round world fighting against monsters from the other side. Uhh, not that your mother in law is a monster...I mean, I\'ve never met her, so...uh, yeah.
