The get-out clause for the providers is the \"up to\" bit, but there\'s a huge discrency between the almost fictional speed and what most users get.

I just got the 3 mobile broadband and I asked them about this before buying as Eastbourne is notoriously poor at getting anything modern (digital tv, mobile connections etc). It\'s not hyperfast but it\'s fairly reliable. They were quite upfront about how advertised speeds are \"up to\" and rarely reached.

I\'m never bothered about bits/bites/wiits whatever. Long as I can do whatever I need to do without impediment i\'m happy.

Ah, but that\'s the point, TBS. Of course it depends on what you want but some of those things may struggle to run smoothly if the bit rate isn\'t up to scratch, particularly as things we download or online games we play require more speed.

Hmmm I dunno Roger, I play a good bit of 2142 and FFXI, even when theres a lot of activity I don\'t really lag at all if any. I think thats on a standard 1meg line too.

Unless my brother did something without telling me...Least it still costs the same if he did lol
