Thanks so much guys!
They're really fun to paint
count zero99uk, but a bit different from everything I've painted so far, especially the characters, with big flat faces and hair. A challenge in a good way.
Yes
QuietiManes, too true! I didn't even see that one until I finished painting. I'm glad the eyes came out good. There was a lot of experimenting going on there.
There was this style i wanted to be able to imitate but I simplified it immensely before I even started trying
Thanks
funnymouth! There's a whole other identical set of Kobolds I have yet to paint and I've been wondering if I should focus on coherency or if I should try something different for experimentation and diversity.
I've got this guy on the table now as well:
(gotta clean his teeth a bit before I start)
Question is: Should I just go through the exact same steps as the little dragons, and get the same style, or would it be worth the extra time spent to try to use less floody washes and build the highlight layers up more. That way I might get the blending smoother or the contrasts stronger or something. I also might just end up spending way too much time on it and being disappointed with the result, or ending up with something too different from the little ones.
Guess it'll be a while before I post more photos on this thread. I hope there's someone else painting this set and willing to keep this thread going in the meantime
