hi just been looking for some information on this game, as i got it for christmas :) anyway ive just finished building up the baddies. Ive now sorted the heroes out and they look like they may need a little more work to get them together, the theives head seems to have a big gap by her ear. Did you have a similar problem.

as soon as i find my sd card ill put up some pics.

Hey, if this is a community effort I'll join right in.
Nothing's really finished but this is the only photo I've taken so it'll serve as my kickoff.

I'm totally going to start with only half of the kobolds, in order to be able to play a 16bit game fully painted that much sooner.

Hey Bloodshovel! Great progress you've made on the SDE minis. You got almost all the mosters dont really quickly and I really like the eyes on the characters. Candy has especially happy chibi eyes :D
I hope you aren't taking to much of a pause from this project. I can't wait to see the rest of your characters.

I've gotten a little more done this weekend.

None of them are actualy fully finished but I like to make them playable and then move along to the next ones. I'll do skin highlighting and grey NMM on a bunch of them later on.

Glad to see a forum for posting these little guys. I'm trying to get the box done before June. Here are my dragons so far. I'm starting on the Ogres this week. The Ogre on this site is the first one I have found. I was surprised how easy these all assembled.

Thanks Meph!

Your dragonkin and Ogre are looking excellent DrFishopolis.

Here's the current stae of my SDE. This isn't happening superfast, as there are always other projects to do, but I'm making steady progress now.

These are really fun to paint. The Characters aren't ready yet, but there's delicate stuff left, and I have to change my mind set out of speed paint mode before I do the cloth/skin/hair/NMM highlights and such smooth stuff.

I like the color scheme you chose for the rogue girl hair and the paladin armor very much. I have ordered the box and should receive it Monday. The fun thing is that this game made me want o paint minis for the first time since 1995 when I played manowar.
Thanks Meph!

Thanks terinecold! Good job too on the spawn points. It's great that you're getting back into mini painting.

@Kris370: Great painting on Candy&Cola. Have you done more of the set yet?

I've finished the first set of Kobolds, finally.

That's half the Kobolds, but I won't need the other half except to play a Supersized game. I'll paint the Dragonkin first.

Little dragons and treasure chests.

I spent a lot of time on those eyes but the rest was more of an exercise in painting fast.
I'm happy with the fairly quick NMM on the treasure chests.

Those baby dragons are cute as can be. The time spent on the eyes was well worth it, turned out great. Mold lines inside a mouth are PITA!

Thanks so much guys!

They're really fun to paint count zero99uk, but a bit different from everything I've painted so far, especially the characters, with big flat faces and hair. A challenge in a good way.

Yes QuietiManes, too true! I didn't even see that one until I finished painting. I'm glad the eyes came out good. There was a lot of experimenting going on there. There was this style i wanted to be able to imitate but I simplified it immensely before I even started trying :D

Thanks funnymouth! There's a whole other identical set of Kobolds I have yet to paint and I've been wondering if I should focus on coherency or if I should try something different for experimentation and diversity.

I've got this guy on the table now as well:

sdestarfirewip01.jpg

(gotta clean his teeth a bit before I start)

Question is: Should I just go through the exact same steps as the little dragons, and get the same style, or would it be worth the extra time spent to try to use less floody washes and build the highlight layers up more. That way I might get the blending smoother or the contrasts stronger or something. I also might just end up spending way too much time on it and being disappointed with the result, or ending up with something too different from the little ones.

Guess it'll be a while before I post more photos on this thread. I hope there's someone else painting this set and willing to keep this thread going in the meantime ;)

You guys all have some cool paint jobs going on. It would appear that they would be fun to paint...but i could see eye consistency being a challenge for me.

Nice job on the Heroes kineticmedic. How's it going with the Kobolds?

These heroes are now properly complete:

I just have some weapon blade NMM left on the other heroes.
