Shame, so many encouraging & supportive replies & it's gone. Hopefully to be touched up for a blazing re-entry into the Gallery, or at least a clear photo with a rear shot ;)

Cheers, B.

Correct. Bad camera, bad photo. I will say that I appreciate the constructive feedback I have gotten. Many people who have seen the model up close said they would give it a 6. I am happy with that. Allready I plan on putting a bore in the guns, I plan on wet-highlighting the skulls (honestly they are plenty highlighted allready, flash does bad things to light colors as someone pointed out to me.)

Basically, bad picture=low score.

If I redo the army, I might NMM it to bright edges, and weather the edges as well. (what you are seeing on this model is NOT an attempt at weathering, it's the way I want the paint job to look.)

Yeah, to be honest, I think we should all take the ratings with a huge grain of salt. Far too many variables can go into it. It really only serves to give a ballpark figure of the mini, nothing more.

Honest critiques are usually found here in the forums. I hope this hasn't scared you off from posting pics, it's fun to share. I also know how disheartening it can be to work hard on something just to have it dismissed so quickly. But, please bear in mind that some of the top mini artists in the world use this site. So, we are quite often spoiled by super duper high quality submissions.

Dont worry about the score man, my first submission got a table top score, after about 12 hours of work. However it does make the first 8 you score taste all that much better as to get an 8 you need some good painting talent. Keep at it, i've been painting for 18 months and am still getting the hang of blending, light placement and brush control.

Hope you get the model re-worked soon :)
