Oh thank god Silas! So I have now done Ann (thank you again for tutorial!), Samson, Abomination and Necromancer. And I have only 6! Zombies left to do and I am finished! I only got the core box from retail as I missed the KS, but man I am not looking forward to painting all the Massive Darkness minis!

Greetings Sorastro! Love your tutorials and I am actually going to follow your classic Zombicide zombie video this weekend when I paint up my zombies from Season 1 (I know, I'm a little late to the Zombicide party). Hopefully everything works out, haha.

I had a question regarding the Black Plague Abomination video. You show a couple reference photos of the Abom to help with the shading and highlighting. Would you mind explaining/describing your setup to get that lighting and backdrop and all that? I sometimes have trouble with the placement of highlights and such and those kinds of photos would be a much-needed assistant.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. - I know you're a busy man and are focusing on Black Plague and Imperial Assault, and I'm sure I'm not the first one to say this, but I would love to see some tutorials on some Survivors from the classic Zombicide game. I know it's a long shot, but I thought I'd at least put it out there :).

HiOctavian80!

For the reference photos I just used some curved black paper as a backdrop and for lighting I have 2 E27 5500K 135W studio bulbs with reflective hoods; one positioned above and the other at a bit of an angle. I'm afraid I most likely won't be covering the original Zombicide survivors (partly because I painted them years ago and I don't have a second set - sorry!).

Thanks for the reply! And thanks for the tip. I look forward to your next video (even though it won't be the original survivors, haha j/k). Happy painting and keep up the amazing work!

Hi Sorastro! Somebody mention in the MB:p comments the other day that you backed it? Please tell me its true and you will be doing videos for it! haha! We were asking the community manager to get minis sent to you so you can paint them :) I bet you are looking forward to painting those minis (if you did back them)

Hi Cryocat! Yes I did back MB:p. I'm not making any promises regarding creating tutorials for it at this stage however as I don't know what my schedule will look like a year from now so we shall have to wait and see.. :)

Hello fellow zombie fans!

It's been too long since I last painted a zombie so I just had to paint the Deadeye Walkers. I hope you enjoy the painting guide!

Great stuff as per usual Sorastro! I have actually finished all of my Z:BP minis now, I only got the retail box. I will post pictures of all of them in a few weeks when I get a chance, but I am planning on repainting my Necro as I don't like how he looks at the moment.

Thank you for all you do! You have really ramped up your output. I can't believe you were able to quit your job and now live off your Patreon patrons. So lucky! Lol. Keep up the fantastic work!

Thanks a lot cryocat! I'm looking forward to seeing your painted set :)

Thank you Octavian! It is a little scary as I've given up a stable salary, but I figure life is too short not to pursue something your passionate about and I'm so much happier now that I'm able to spend most of my working hours being creative :)

Hello!

I'd like to share with you the next episode in the Zombicide Black Plague painting series: Clovis. That means there's just three heroes left until I've finished the core set!

What lighting on you using on these shots? It's fantastically soft.

Hi Withers!

For most of these shots I was using a couple of cheap E27 5500K bulbs with soft boxes. Nelly was shot with under my new light however which is quite a large LED bulb with a large octagonal soft box. :)

I figured, softboxes are practically magic. That new LED setup looks super nice!

Yes I'm pleased with the new LED. It's powerful enough for me to get away with using a single light, and I'm happy with how accurately in renders the colours too. :)
