I might have to invest in some then. The kitchen is nearly entirely completed and a table arrives next week. All i need now is some free time and some spare cash :D

Reaper Master Series are nice

P3 paints are nice when they want to be

Vallejo paint are always good

I have not tried any other. Actually when I first started painting I used liquitex paints because I was too poor to afford GW paints. Do not use liquitex paints, they suck.

I stayed with GW because I was too lazy to try any alternatives and didn\'t want to invest more $$$$ into my toys. Then my wife started painting and and she and the kids use GW as well. SHe bought a few Vallejos and she thinks they are superior to GW. I personally don\'t like them because they have an almost eggshell quality when dry.

I use Vallejo for most of my colors. I like the consistency, and I\'m used to them at this point. I have a couple of reaper paints for neutral earth colors, and I like the P3 inks. Because I\'m lazy, I also use GW washes when I\'m in a hurry, but the P3 inks give me the freedom to thin them to my satisfaction.

Whatever you choose, I would go with dropper bottles. The problem with flip lid paints is that they tend to dry very quickly unless you put them on a palette - in which case, you might as well use dropper bottles. It\'s not impossible, and many top painters use flip lids, but it requires more work than I really want to invest in just keeping my tools in good shape.

If you still don\'t know, see if you can find a retailer who is willing to give you some sample bottles. That\'s how I discovered vallejo - an internet retailer I knew sent me a small handful of different color systems to test out, with the understanding that I would buy from him when I fully invested in a particular line.

i mostly use citadel, i try/tried to convert to valleju due to their wider range of colours but i find them hard to use, the medium separates from the pigment in a very annoying way and turns out not so smoothly... or im just doing something wrong *shake the bottle, shake the bottle...* heh

Does anyone know if the Coaties might be the same as the Privateer Press ones? I\'m only asking as I thought Mr McVey might be a bit old-skool.

They\'re similar, but P3 have the edge in terms of consistency from colour to colour with the amount of pigment in the paint. They still have the vinyl feel of Coaties. I like and use both.

My top paints:
Vallejo Model, Game and Air
Coat D\'Arms
P3
Tamiya Clear and metallics
GW Metallics, Foundation and washes
Gunze Sangyo and Tamiya for airbrushing

Ones I tried and hated (doesn\'t happen very often):
Rackham
