Wow its been 1,5 yrs not going near a brush after some serious burnout and blackout from the hobby. nice to see this forum still equipped with latest software LOL

hope every new and not-new folks at this forum are getting along well in these crazy times.

Anyway, display-painting is out the window but i started to play Killteam with my son, great fun! luckily i was able to finish my astra militarum renegades (played as regular astra militarum) killteam before i quit painting, so we have used them to mirror match just to get familiar with rules and stuff. some pictures here hehee. as you can see the terrain has been neglected (d'oh!) so prio one now is to get some nice buildings on the table.

new Ogryn in pipeline, small conversion on a forgeworld model. not much to show really but anyway. (wasnt really aware a bullgryn was 40p in the game so might not use him after all haha) its a bummer that forgeworld did discontinue the renegade line so getting reinforcements to my kill team will not really be possible without getting ruined

One building finished (well two actually), used cheap thick artist acrylics on tube to get some texture, then drenched it weathering products. probably an hour work if you add the assembly n stuff. nothing im super proud of but a wee bit more fun to look at than grey plastic ;) hope to make some more terrain in the near future.

Sorry to hear you’ve not been painting man, gutted for you and hope that you can rekindle your passion again soon.
Thanks mate! i think ive done my part when it comes to display-painting to be honest. i feel no interest in doing that again. guess its related to how i felt during the latest years when it came to mental health, painting was a way for me to more or less isolate myself and not deal with problems, instead of a nice way to relax as it should be. feel a ton more better now though so all good!

Tack :) kul att se att du fortfarande håller på med! är själv lite förvånad, att tävla mot minecraft och fortnite är inte det lättaste haha, men nu verkar han faktiskt ha fastnat för killteam vilken känns skitkul.

Glad to see you posting again. After my absence I had hoped to see what you had been up to.
Yeap, it hasnt been much tbh when it comes to hobby. picked up the old ad&d roleplaying, and now some tabletop painting and gameing...

Ok so I painted my first model in over 1,5 yrs. Did a proxy for the Ambull for Killteam, the dreaded Rogue Ambot ?????? basically going to use the Ambull rules with some tweaks.
whole model took about an hour to build, 30minutes to paint (i clocked it) it will not win any golden demon lol but regarding im quite pleased with the result. Painting tabletop is so much more fun!

Painting tabletop is very nice and an inspiration for me to do that in-between some other projects, More relaxed and faster time to final results. Keep enjoying it and have a lot of fun with killteam. My son prefers computer games so far, I have goten him into roleplaying thou with some of his friends.

Hi Stefan,

I feel with you: I am dealing with depression and anxiety since more than seven years now, and especially in the first two years, it sometimes was really hard to keep everything ongoing, not talking about painting at all.
And even since I feel better, I mostly lack the motiviation to continue on this hobby although I still have a lot of ideas in mind, and my sewers still aren't finished yet... :eyeroll!:
I started painting and assembling a small battleship Tirpitz last autumn, a black primed Scania R730 construction kit is waiting, too, since two years...

I am glad for you you're able to return to your hobby, even if it is just for a little bit :)
Hopefully, I'll be able to do it, too - in the last days, it already felt a bit like taking a brush and paint, and that's why I decided having a look at CMON today ;) But well... let's see...

In any case, I hope you are still well and I wish you all the best ✊✊✊

CU :)

hey DunErwit!

i had a little necromunda episode, painted a goliath and a cawdor gang to quite decent tabletop if i might say so myself and actually played some games with my 10yrs old son. great stuff. then motivation died again unfortunately and now im helping him to do cheesy computer gaming youtube videos instead lol. at least something creative and fun to do together with him.
im not going to force anything regarding miniatures and especially competition painting which im still pretty sure i will never do again. right now i am painting some undead 75mm guy that is just going to end up a decoration at home, but painting is very much not a priority anylonger. wip pictures below, taken me 3-4 months so far :D

It is great that you are able to share parts of the hobby with your son. My eight year old son is starting to get into board games high is exciting. Keep your spirits up and go where your current interests are.

yeah we used to play x-wing mini game some years ago, as the main rules are quite straightforward without upgrades and specialties and the other zillion stuff by now.
problem with more "advanced" boardgame/minigames is the english but now he is getting good enough to understand most (he actually speaks better english than me although the vocabulary isnt quite there yet).
hard to compete with video games though.
