I working they all the parts and still fine tuning 0DDA3744-C332-4F23-BEB4-C48A35D7329F.jpg-grime and dirty filthy stinking orks. BD3F5444-8032-423B-87E2-E6EFF610F0D6.jpeg
When Janet takes a photo she always uses two diff setting for the models overall lighting in the diffusion box. Bamchitsu all the way -grim and dark -still a very much ongoing wip but closer each time in finishing them then I’ll move onto the “grot surprise “ my secret weapon from the earlier GW days if gorkamorka . This will be one of my large units emphasizing weathering and textures as the “showcase skills” . Not nmm, not fancy blends not me grim dark is my passion.

Better images

Much closer to what I’m seeing here DFED7598-B84A-4136-AF95-E38FD19308DE.jpg5DC36D65-8C22-44A5-B07F-3C99DB6081B7.jpegFC6E4006-4EB2-4179-B3C2-8A74EB11D165.jpg37367CD7-9E36-4273-848C-9D78CBC0EA10.jpeg

as far as layers of contrast I’ve hit them all -all of the 5layers of simultaneous contrast -1) I have light vs dark areas
2) cool warm temp balance ,3) complimentary colors ,4)texture vs smooth 5) gloss vs Matt areas. Plus weathering along with staining, blood, acne, warts etc. the smoother skin contrasts nicely against the darker and more textured sections of like the dirty and stained shirts along with the oxidized steel simulation . And there’s bits of linear freehand.like the chevrons which will also be factor that will Tie them together .

Really great work and your insights on your approach is very interesting. As well as your thoughts on personal style and competition painting. I have just recently entered my first competition piece and the critiques of the judges were very interesting. It's very useful since I think it's getting harder and harder to get constructive criticism with forums having less and less traffic. So it's very interesting to read about your thoughts and the checkboxes you tick during your WIPs.

Also congratulations on the ulfenwatch. They look really great and are very well tied into the bases with the grass and moss on them.
Excited to see what bases you'll do for the orcs :)

Oh awesome Cy -that’s so awesome -I feel your going to be a strong competitor with your painting- your skills were always sharp but seeing your current work mate shows a significant jump in your skill set - especially that Khorne dude - Beautiful job and real fine paintwork. Very impressive my friend.

Awesome to see you continuing to-get recognized. I enjoy the subtle mixing of the blue and pink on the genestealers. Seems much more organic than you usually see.

And those orks are really characterful. But you need to get them a medic to take care of their skin condition! Lol.

Holy Jeez BaM. The orks are bloody amazing. Perfect vehicle for your special kind of grimy weathering. It has given them character. The hazard striping is super nice too.

Another great round with these boyz. I know I have said it before, but aside from the weathering (which is top notch), the skin tones you have achieved on the greenies is on point mate. Great work.
