Great work Pendix, nicely done! It would look even better if the torso was leaning forward just a touch (just something that popped into my mind). The hands are especially good. How did you make them?

@ TrystanGST: I want to see more!! That's really RED XIII in all its glory! The flame-tip of the tail it's perfect, do you mind sharing your secret? I'm always pretty bad when it comes to sculpting fur/hair/flames and such...

@ Pendix: great work! I like her head, it gives her a cartoonish look, and I agree with Moonmin82, hands are incredibly well done!

You guys are too kind.
@Abaddon - for the tail, I really just put a blob of putty on the end and shaped it mostly with my fingers. I used the clay shapers to smooth it out. Then I added a few smaller blobs as well. I can try and get some more pics.

Hmm - I may revisit the mane after all. I like the front part better.

Wow some pretty amazing stuff this month. Korra looks fantastic and Trystan I've followed your WIP thread for a while but didn't realise your sculpting was up there with your painting. Can't wait to see Red XIII when he's painted.
I do have a quick question for Pendix and Trystan, you both look like you are using different putty for different parts of our sculpt could you please explain what you are using and why.

As for Marceline, she is coming along but I'm not going to have her quite finished by the end of the month. I'll put up a picture in another post as I still can't attach photos from my laptop.

I can tell you a couple of reasons why- for one, you can mix regular GS epoxy putty with any other type of epoxy putty (Magic sculpt, Aves, Milliput, and I think even Bondo). You'd want to do this because straight GS is sort of "bendy" when cured- and though some people have had success with sanding it for a smoother finish, the other Epoxies listed above cure MUCH harder- to the consistency of ceramic. BUT! The non GS putties have a different consistency by themselves as well- Aves breaks, it does not stretch like GS. So a mix is optimal to get the workability of GS while stiffening it up some. I use about a 40/60 GS/ Aves mix. So, it looks like Pendix did most of Korra in Aves and her hair and some details in GS. Another reason I've found is that the putty will lighten a bit when you put it in the freezer. Whenever I have some mix left over, I wrap it in a bit of wax paper and put it in there until I need it again.
Hope this helps and Marceline is looking good! :D

Chrispy is right. The dark green is pure GS. I don't use it too often, as it doesn't sand well at all. I usually mix it with milliput, which gives me that lighter green color. It is less sticky, and sands reasonably well. Of course, I just recently got my hands on some procreate, so I will be trying that out soon (it's grey).

Had a lot on, and a bit disappointed I didn't get more done. Gonna take on something a bit easier for this month as I want to finish off the WW and Guyver.

Love Red, Can't wait to see him with a lick of paint :)

Thanks for all the tips guys. I shall be shopping around for some other putty before I start anything new and see how I get on.

Goblinho your Guyver looks great. I'll have to sit out next month as I won't have much time, but hopefully I'll find enough time to finish what I've got on the go. And I cant wait to see what Chrispy has planed for January.

I never finished my project. Will post pictures of it as it was at deadline (and still is) later today.
It was supposed to be a humanoid unicorn warrior with horseshoeshaped handguard on the sword.
Made in the style of My Little Pony FiM but humanoid and not a specifik pony from the series.

Horn, hair and tail are missing but you get the concept.
Even tho I didnt finish it i learned a lot by actually pushing some putty around instead of theorycrafting it in my head.

Well it's been a busy couple of months but I've finally found the time to just about finish Marceline. She's not to the standard of some of the other sculpts here but I'm quite pleased with her and it's only the second thing I have ever sculpted.

It's to late now for me to join in this month's sculptalong but hopefully I'll be able to give February a go.
