Removing integrated bases

Yeah I\'m with MPJ, Damn the uniform gaming base! Who would ever want to use their figures for gaming and being able to acuratly measure distance and scale, based on a consistent and easily identifiable representation; while at the same time offering a display like elevation and presentation to the model, which also, to a lesser degree, aids in protecting the paint job by offering a less fragile point of grip on the model other than the actual painted figure. lol

@MPJ just kidding, I feel your pain with being slow to adjust to trends in the market. It\'s taken me about 10+ years to accept that the current space marine (MKVII) helmet wasn\'t just some gimick GW was trying out. \"Marines have pointy helmets, that\'s what makes them awesome. Duh!?\"
Oh, well here\'s to change and to those who are slow to accept it. Bless \'em both.

I may be opinionated and I may be old fashion but I do appreciate great sarcasm as I come from a long line of smart-asses.

By the way, I have my own special workaround for built-in bases and the more modern base. I glue the mini with cast base straight to the plastic base (actually mostly wooden base as I use Litko bases quite a bit) and build up the area with modeling clay as can be seen here.

i prefer seperate bases so you can add your own choice to the mini. i also like bases for gaming that are big wnough to eep the minis from playing grab ass like 40k genestealers like to do. a base should be big enough that the whole mini fits within its footprint. that way they dont hang out over and make hard for getting pieces into position for gaming purposes. non gaming minis can be put on a base however it needs to be.

i would prefer ALL minis even prepainted Clix ones that were seperate from the bases so you can paint and flock the base how you want. also the smaller bases don\'t always stand as the center of gravity may just shift over the footprint.

i like the idea of not removing the mini form the base, but just building up around the integrated base on top of like a plastic or seperate base. i still need to do that with my toadman form reaper. makes the mini more secure to the base too i bet since the original base has a larger surface area than just the feet would.

Well I\'m definitley in the \"I want to choose my own base\" camp.

Doesn\'t mean that I will remove every base \"Broccoli\" or otherwise.:D Just I want to be able to select the way I want to display a mini.

Gaming, is for me different, as I, 99% of the time, play 40K the bases are fine.....With one exception....Sisters of Battle Seraphim. Now they really annoy me.
It\'s like my Nuns have been on the \"Raz\" with the Communion wine. lol
Would they stay upright ? I\'ve more chance of rolling Sixes to hit. lol

Two pence piece glued to the bases has been the solution.
