Red Dragon pleads for comments

It\'s a nice piece - one I haven\'t seen before! One or two things caught my eye.

The gravel - it\'s really big, chunky and unpainted. It does nothing for the scale of the beast, making it appear smaller. You could break this up with some finer sand/gravel mix
Your paintwork would benefit from some more definition between the lightest and darkest tones. You could do this with ink washes and glazes quite quickly and then matte varnish it. I think this part would give it that extra something and really lift the marks on it!:)

OK,

Your light box is a real plus, gotta get off my duff & get me one.

Spacemunkie nailed the terrain/base. Another mini would also help with scale.

Now for the tedius part (why I haven\'t put my dragon together) You need a wash down in all of thoses scales. (dark red-almost brown? not so bad) THEN, edge paint all of the scales blending up to an orange-red or something hot. Drybrushing might work, but I don\'t think it would look near as good.

The wings need a touch more highlight/shadow difference. Don\'t overdo it or they might look heavy.

TracyRed Dragon new work

I think it is NEVER a bother to look at other peoples stuff. In fact, i find it an honor that they are asking for my (well, not directly) opinions...

It is a very cool looking dragon, and the red is well done. The wings look very good.

I agree with most of the others here. The basing material is too big and does kind of hurt the overall look. A wash of a darker red over the scales might give it more \'pop\'. The teeth and claws both need a little more definition.

My comments don\'t go through the system faster....

They are all done in strict chronological order, over which, I have no control. Everyone\'s comments are flying through the system at the moment because, I am off work and supposedly decorating. This means I take every chance I can get to skive off, \'while the paint dries\':D

Hey, FInn! Could you feel that ??? A trans-Atlantic butt kissing lol lol lol :moon:

Oh! And On-topic: TA, I\'d pretty much echo the comments of those before me. Nice solid work that, with just a little tweaking, could rate much higher! And that\'s not even counting the extra point you get for putting up with Becca :D

dauber22 it is the algebra on line crap. She is not enjoying the stay in the lines approach to math she rather prefers the paint your own plot of drama.
Thank you for the extra credit for rearing the young lass. ;)
I have taken the base toned up the horns, toes and teeth, tweaked the highlights which my son noticed did not show in the picture and were his favorite part. Thats what I get for not taking his view serious enough I find this often when we play the D&D at twelve he has more common sense and taste than I do.
I will post a new picture for you guys asap.
Thanks

Crappy teaching...that\'s what it is...

I used to hate and despise maths, especially algebra. Then I decided to take the plunge and studied it at university. A revelation! They actually told us \'why\'. They asked seemingly impossible questions that we couldn\'t answer and then taught us the algebraic solution so we could work the answer out.

At school I just did it \'cos someone told me to with no understanding at all. And to the best of my knowledge that is still the way things are generally done today.

I love it also but it is very logical :D
She bombed it in Hs and sailed through geometry. I did just the opposite must be a left brain right brain thing?
She is better today cause she finds the tutor to be very good. Amen
I tried for pictures last night. one out of ten comes out with a white background the others look like sepia. I do not change settings or lights or even move the camera. I think the sensor is shot out. Therefore the camera is causing me problems. If I were to by from Gateway what camera should I get? right now I am dealing with a POS I am sure.

I am taking the crappy camera out to try again for I am a stubborn Taurus and refuse to quit.
Thank goodness we do not have a test for that yet here.

mickc22 You are so welcome. I am pleased to have shared. I hear your dog is in love with the dicelol

The dragon looks much better! As for cameras - so many to choose from..... Just make sure you check out the macro settings. I got stung by duff macro facilities on a Sony. Finn\'s right (the camera fascist!), Nikon will be nice(although my new Canon rocks...):bouncy:
