Couple of updates:
Did some texture to the base, started in on the owl (that thing is crazy tiny and had to use a magnifying glass... but seems ok), made sculpted some shelf mushrooms with some greenstuff (these will be attached to the log that will go on his base), and attempting to get a fern to work (having difficulties with it though. If I get it to work, I'll post a tutorial). Next steps will be to do some grain on the staff to make it look like wood, finish varnishing the log (I like the colors it already has), prime the mushrooms then glue them to log.
