Project Wolf

Time to start a new Project, this will be my second Forgeworld Imperial Space Marine (the first was done as a Dark Angel) and will be painted As a Space wolf. Work done so far, all pieces clipped and cleaned of mould lines and flash. I have removed the imperial Aquillas from both Pauldrons as these will be replaced with Space Wolf iconography. I have also commissioned replacement legs which will be scratch built in a standing pose (no more knees up). Thanks to Cassar off of coolminiornot for taking this on! Lots more work to go!

A little progress today, I carved out the eagle in the middle of the breast plate (only managing to stab my thumb twice). I then clipped out and cleaned up one of the space wolf icons i got from Forgeworld. It was then moulded to fit the contour of the chest plate. I immersed it in boiling water for a minute before pressing it to the chest to take on the shape, the plaster on my thumb helped to hold it without scalding myself! Quite happy with the result!

Lol careful its been my personal experience that rushing leads to mistakes which leads to delays which leads to frustration and usually a major wobbler of some description.

Progress update, the Forgeworld Space wolf Icons proved to bee too small to work as Chapter insignia on the pauldrons, I had to order the Space Wolf Land Raider doors, trimmed them down and thinned them so that they can be heat moulded to the shoulders!

Yhey are definately fun to paint, thinking ahead slightly, i am trying to decide on colours. I am not a great fan of the standard Blue/Grey space wolf colour and want to go darker on tnr msin armour sedctions, any suggestions would be appreciated!

As to colour, there's not much room for manoeuvre they are either really pale blue grey or dirty grey. depends on if you're going for factory fresh look or been in the field a while (personally I'd go in the field for a while weather him it will add depth).

good fluke, what I would say is use a needle or tooth pic to edge the moustache above the top lip.

Cheers, i figured hair was a good place to start, but sculpting large pieces of flat even armour plates of the right proportions is beyond me! I would encourage you to do some instructables on you tube but a good magician never reveals their tricks!
