There were no aquila pendants or jewlery, as the Emperor shunned religion, they were never included in the space marines gear. Simple really.

Would love to know where you read that.

Edit:

Never been a fan of that style shoulders on Terminators, but the model is looking good. My only issue is with the severity of the highlights on the black. If you pare them back towards the edges some, I think they would look great.

I agree with removing the aquila, cause it makes it look less sons of horus.

Have you read the horus heresy books?
There\'s some usefull stuff in there.

Read what?

pre-heresy marines used almost no decoration on the armor, and using Aquila pendants is a symbol of devotion. Now, as i said, religion and devotion wasnt the emperors pride and joy.

Only the Emperors Children were allowed to wear the aquila, on their chestplates, to show that they were the Emperors favorite Legion.

Well, I have been involved with 40K since Rogue Trader and I remember plenty of decoration.

I just thought that you found some new (revisionist) fluff to support the \'absolutely no aquila\' position.

I only remember it being \'no aquila on the armor.\'

Just thought maybe you knew of something that I had missed. Always on the lookout for new fluff.

The aquila on the sword is fine they just weren\'t supposed to wear them on their cuirass unless they were the Emperors Children or were given special dispensation like Garro of the Death Guard. The only small niggling problem that I can see is that The Luna wolves had white armour which changed to a kind of pearlescent pale green when they became the Sons of Horus. The Black armour was adopted after the heresy and the abortive attempt to clone the Warmaster by the other legions. They were denied their Emperor and their Warmaster so they became the Black legion.
That said it\'s a good paintjob and a cracking conversion and most importantly it\'s your mini so go with what you like.

If you want to know more about the pre-Heresy organisation and practices of the Space Marines try reading the Horus Heresy novels from GW.
